I think any streamer who has the opportunity should at least try Deadlock and see if it sticks with them. It's looking like that game's going to be a pretty big deal and right now is the time to get in on the ground floor as a known content creator for it.
You mean cash it in while it still FOTM before everyone stopped giving a shit after a while like the Finals.
I'm a skeptical person and I don't think it has great future due to:
1. Valve being literally
the biggest trash of a publisher in the FPS genre. CSGO only survived due to a community server called FACEIT. They tried killing CS many time, but it just get back up due to sheer force of will from the community. They still refused to implement a capable cheat engine, while cheat is getting more and more sophisticated by the day.
Just look at this shit:
People are literally using a triple-computer set-up to avoid getting detected by kernel-level anticheat like Vanguard and EAC, FACE IT.
Riot anti-cheat actually managed to fight off this DAM method, but the fight against cheat is one of attrition and new ones pop up everyday, while FACEIT relies on premium subscription and manual reviews (small enough playerbase for them to do so), idk what the fuck EAC does though, but VAC isn't it.
2. While the game is fun to play, it is also very spectator unfriendly, bad streamer experience and dwindling competitive scene will be a problem they face just like overwatch. Actually overwatch was way more fun to watch than this, and it had the advantage of a god-tier video animations, the entire rule34 scene, covid, etc.
Meanwhile just like the finals, hell divers 2, the shooter scene is very saturated and most "the next big thing" lost interest after a while. Some even before people found interest (concord kekw). "Moba shooter" is just a big blergh on top of that.
I checked the biggest deadlock streamer being live at the moment (singsing) and doesn't seem like he even surpassed the viewers stats he had before he played deadlock. Basically the same audience of his who watched him playing dota 2 are watching him playing deadlock.
Here fixed it, fuck the english language :dead:
