Some people are genuinely good at being interesting talkers. One of Gura's big strengths is being able to natter on about random things in a way that's good for both engaged listening and background noise.
I guess these workarounds would depend on where you're based, especially since they want documents to prove it, rather than PayPal where (in the UK at least) you just tell them your business's name and they take your word for it. In the UK setting up a limited company for your online work would expose your legal name and address, as people could look up your company name on the Companies House website.

The ability to interact with viewers more directly is why I think the groomcord unironically can be a positive thing. Being able to talk shit directly with your indie oshi(s) and participate in random off-the-cuff shit they decide to do is how you can cultivate some very dedicated fans. So long as they keep their shit together, don't actually get groomed (unless they want to), direct fan interaction is the key to building a loyal following and giving good optics on how engaging you are. It's not an experience your average corpo can give you, it's a unique thing that only independents can reliably get away with.
Just have to deal with the 80% of the rest of the faggotry in the groomcord. The concept has potential, but the execution is lacking.

Yeah she's great she's commented on all but one of my clips that have her and she has retweeted me every time too. And before someone says "hurr Talos Principle 2 is boring!", it's arguably one of the most backseatable games out there. Some sperg will always be shouting out the answers to puzzles and then get upset when the streamer ignores them and tries to figure out the puzzles themselves
This is actually insane to me; the whole reason I watch a streamer, VTuber or not, is for the "show," so to speak. If their stream is playing a game, I'm tuning in to see them play that game. That's the whole reason I always tune in late to Lia streams, since she takes so long before getting into the topic of a stream.
Is it a lonely parasocial thing? Do they just dip after the VTuber is paying attention to a thing that isn't them? Seems bizarre to tune into a gaming stream just to bail when the gaming starts.

I've been against the idea of discord servers not because of faggotry but because of its reach. Their main platforms for putting eyes on them is youtube and twitter, isolating yourself to a discord does dick for reach. If they only want to shoot the shit with their fans having a discord works but if they want to increase their reach(they should unless you're Moe wanting to waste away for years) they need to get out of the discord and shoot the shit with the people outside of it and then lure them into the discord.
