Nothing has come out that you've enjoyed or have positive opinions on? Many of these releases have been panned and viciously mocked. Concord? Assassin's Creed: Black Samurai? Dragon Age: Non-Binary Edition? Along with being completely shit on, many of the spergs involved in these types of games have been getting laid off and companies shut down. Meanwhile, smaller companies or even individuals have continued putting out fun games that people continue to enjoy without any of this cringe shit and plenty have been rewarded for these efforts.

For one thing, the spergs involved in these types of games aren't getting laid off; they're getting quietly promoted to consultancy positions for new games, and the old companies are being restructured to incorporate DEI principles into them on a much deeper level called BRIDGE, which Kirsche has done numerous deep-dives on.

For another... why is this okay? Why is it okay for great franchises to be repeatedly raped, pillaged and destroyed, just because indie games are good? I don't want to play Wyvern Era: Beginnings, I want to play Dragon Age: Origins. I don't want to constantly have to abandon established settings, deep lore and characters I've grown attached to and crawl away to the indie market to find something to replace them. Something I remember vividly and was complaining about back then. Hell, I remember in the early 00s the complaints that PC games were being dumbed down for the console market because a) the PS2 and that generation was a big hit, and b) the console were becoming more and more capable of doing what PCs could do, so publishers were pushing developers to develop for consoles.

But while all of these changes were bad enough (and brought about by the influx of normies), the woke infestation was the oil on the fire. Combine that with "games as a service" being more and more prevalent, and I'm honestly shocked that there even is a gaming industry. However, that there's one god awful thing going on doesn't mean I shouldn't be concerned about something else that's even worse.

I'm going to ignore the back-and-forth about politisperging and culture war shit in vtubing because I've already posted about it before, and I don't care to waste my time when this debate never changes anything when people decide to timeloop it.

What I will say is that I highly doubt Western vtubing is going anywhere. Even with more and more culture war shit popping up, there will always exist different vtubers for whatever people are looking for. I'm not against some pushback against retards like this tranny trying to come in and dictate how things should be, but I see no reason to get so doomer about it and going so far to think retards like this are going to destroy any side of vtubing.

I do not like just hanging on to a little corner of actual good gaming there is when this was all avoidable and leaving what once was a wasteland. Additionally, just retreating to where the grass is still green will not help, as the invading forces will not stop and let you have your little island.
