The gap between the first System Shock and Bioshock releasing is only 13 years
360 and PS3 are retro consoles
Do I have to go over this again? Look, it's very simple: what is retro is something that is before my time. If it is from during or after my time, it is not retro.
So the 360, Gamecube, Dreamcast, N64, Genesis, and NES are not retro. The Intellivsion and Odyssey, however, are before my time, thus they are retro.

I think the PS360 era is an interesting one because their first releases look very dated, with almost no lighting elements and a fuckton of bloom and blur. The later releases look like modern games running in Low End mode, so I still don't feel they're really retro. Perhaps by UE6 I will change my mind.360 and PS3 are retro consoles
The current gap of time between now and the GCN/PS2/Xbox era is the same as the gap of time for "retro games" back when that era of consoles were new.360 and PS3 are retro consoles

At least KH was his baby to ruin with his ideas if he wanted to. Nomura took FF7, crammed it full with his shitty fanfiction and thought it was some meta compelling story. I rather have another Kingdom Hearts if it helps keep his hands away from more Final Fantasy titles.

Iirc he was just an artist unless he did uncredited stuff behind the scenes
His wiki page says he was involved in the story writing process, including the eternal spoiler moment; he was the principal character designer, not just an artist.
The original staff are all in charge of the remake. They are all just washed up after making garbage for 25 years under SquareEnix.
The main difference is Kitase is just producing the "remakes". He directed the original and co-wrote it. Kitase seems to be good at directing games, at least back in the day, but shit at reigning his coworkers in when they make shitty games as a producer.

I'll say up front that it's nowhere near as cool as Silent HIlls would've been, and there's a high chance that f ends up being cooked on release because the devs don't have a great track record.
But I'm just interested to see what he does with the IP, especially considering that the game is set in rural Japan - Higurashi was a great exploration of that kind of setting
mixing elements of murder mystery, village cults, paranoia and claustrophobia, ancient rituals and guardian deities, with a bit of government conspiracy and post-war Japanese politics for good measure. And that's ignoring the main overarching storyline which threads all those fragments together
My first game console was one of those "it just plays pong" consoles, and my next console after that was the Magnavox Odyssey.
So... there are no retro consoles.
I think what was annoying was that Compilation of FF7 felt like this meta fanfiction was leading somewhere with Genesis, Deepground, and Loveless. Felt like at some point we were getting an actual VII-2 or something like that. A real sequel to follow up on these plot points. Then Nomura works on a ton of other shit, only to come back, throw everything out of the window, and turn VII remake into this nonsensical sequel that makes new shit up. I just don't understand his aversion to finishing what he starts, from what I've read of Kingdom Hearts, it seems the same problem. He doesn't want to follow up on any story hooks he made years ago and would rather explore whatever recent nightmare he had at the office during overtime.

The Pokémon Company have implemented shiny legendaries as a reward for registering a game’s Pokédex in Pokémon Home, so you might just see an uptick in chuubas grinding out the ‘dexes of BDSP, SV, and Legends Arceus for Shiny Manaphy, Shiny Meloetta, and Shiny Enamorous respectively.
Note: the Pokémon have to come from the respective games themselves, no cheating by passing them between generations.

Hah i knew it, given they called the Meloetta gift "No. 1". Now are only SS and LGPE rewards left and i wouldnt call it Hell if you always caught the Mon's in their game it shouldnt take that long to complete the missing stuff. Took me less then a week after Meloetta came out
