Cyberpunk was just Fallout 4 but good and without the crutch that everyone pretended to like (base building)

Turns out all you needed to make Fallout 4 good was a couple likeable characters, combat that isn't abominable, and a decent world map. Turns out people don't particularly give a shit about the RPG part of their RPGs if the vibes are good.

Cyberpunk had as much RPG aspects as Fallout 4

The quest design was arguably worse and gave you even less choice, but yeah, about there.
A lot of the Cyberpunk quests were more "on rails" but they were more entertaining than the garbage that Bethesda served up.

I wouldn't play either ever again, they're both slop.

The first three games dealt with sexism just fine. What the hell do they think they can add? A cringey "End the Patriarchy!" side quest that nobody outside of HR people would like?
The main storyline will be about Ciri rebelling against Geralt for being a sexist piece of shit who abused her all her life, completing overwriting their previous relationship.

eh if were going for generic story beats chances are they go for the "i can do it on my own because i don't need no man" angle

to be clear i doubt they are that stupid but thats feels like the one they would go for if any.

Reading the Witcher books retroactively killed my enjoyment of the Witcher games since I saw how much of the game writing was just taking pre-existing storylines, changing bad guys and settings, and presenting it in the game. After that my reaction was "Oh no, how is Cyberpunk going to turn out when they don't have well written characters and storylines to pull from?" A by the numbers, predictable story with shallow characters, oh boy! Completely aside from the technical issues that their games have and the shift from fun euro-jank to normal "AAA" drek, their ability to write strong original content has been always been minimal and they've learned all of the wrong lessons over the last two decades.
I had a lot of issues with vanilla 2077 writing, but Phantom Liberty pleasantly surprised me in that aspect, with both main story and side quests.
To the point where i was optimistic about the writing of CDPR products going forward until i saw the post just before mine.
Fuck.
