He has a seriously concerning number of posts to this thread discussing the new bill that would allow the use of the death penalty for certain sexual crimes, chiefly pedophilia, where he argues with everyone that pedophiles are just mentally ill and should be allowed the opportunity to show they will not offend.

A large scale domestic conflict wouldn't be "winnable" by the United States government. The attrition within the first few days by soldiers going AWOL would be massive. The number of people staying in to play saboteur would also be substantial. Tanks require a ton of upkeep, but also what is there in a civil war to use a tank against? If the modern global conflicts have taught us anything, it'd be drones that are an issue. Tanks are specialized units that aren't great in our modern landscape in broad applications. I want to say, though don't quote me, the gov has paid a thinktank to war game a hypothetical civil war in the 2000s and their results fucking sucked for everyone involved. But, big armor and airplanes were pretty shit. You also won't nuke a large swath of land that you hope to reclaim, as you at minimum time gate the fuck out of you ability to use that land when you win.
