...it's odd to be bouncing around ideas for huge expenses like second outfits if the agency is that deep in the red. Unless combined with Chio's recent clip about PixelLink being in a good place, it just means management was keeping the talents in the dark about the company's financial state.
Honestly the entire situation is odd... Chio starts very publicly pointing to her alt and Lottie starts posting on an alt, but at the same time Kanna talks about ASMR plans for the next few months and Daiya seeming to assure her fans that everything will be alright in a Twitter space. I'm definitely starting to think this is something more along the lines of a Brave acquisition with some talents being fine with it and others being vehemently against it. Regardless of what the actual situation is, this has been by far the strangest small corpo happening I can remember...

Alternatively, perhaps Kanna and Daiya are planning to buyout their IP, while the others can't afford it or simply don't think it's worth the expense.

It's definitely pretty odd to see Kanna making long term plans while Chio is going full steam ahead on setting up a new identity.

The strangest thing about this situation is that it's just the Christmas events that are cancelled + some streams re-scheduled. The girls put up their schedules like normal and some scheduled streams went ahead today anyway like the VSMP Christmas stream, so it's not exactly a walkout either.

If the girls hadn't all simultaneously revived their alts, this would have been a bit of a nothingburger (a warning sign, maybe, but not much else). Other than Chio, everyone seems to have calmed down a bit. Did they all just panic at whatever they were told? Watching the girls who are streaming, some are handling it better than others, but everyone's pretty calm now all things considered. Miuna, who I would really expect to be affected by something like this was okay too:

At this point, I'm ready to accept whatever happens, but I do wish I could know what exactly it is that's going on.

Some of them having future plans doesn't really cancel out the possibility of the company closing. The streamers run at no cost, so they're the last thing the company needs to stop compared to laying off management or ending projects.

Getting a new model made takes months, so Chio getting ahead of the closure isn't strange as that's also what vtubers do when they plan to graduate.

I'm happy Chio has a back up, in any case. I really liked her design as Chio though. But as long as she's happy, I'm good.

Stop with the vaguepost. What is the problem inside PixelLink? Is management sucking at their work? Some sexpest inside? Lack of funding and support of the talents? They run out of money? If it makes you lose respect of PixelLink, then it has to be something malicious or outright stupid, beyond them just succumbing to the whims of the market.

That is the thing, the talents are acting like everything is normal and that this cancelation of that Christmas stream was just a bump in the road, perhaps a lack a coordination, instead of the sign of a coming collapse.

And regarding the alts. For example, Poko and Coni have been pretty active in their alts and yet, they're still streaming in Idol. I don't know, people sometimes tend to doompost too early.

I remember fishman dropping something along "oh yeah we spent like 20k on art just this month" lines.
The figure was "mid to high six-figures" for the year of 2023, in which they've debuted(well, funded debuts of, same thing) a total of 13 new chuubas among all other things.
A fledgling corpo is probably not debuting 13 people within a year while also actively spending on other shit.

Yeah, that too, but i distinctly remember him talking about just art bills he paid that month. I don't remember which stream it was though, maybe Dizzy, maybe Filian.

Streaming assets at premium corpo prices, assets for regular projects at premium corpo prices, advertisement costs, various legal fees, 3 years worth of salaries & other operational costs, "merch is fucked again" budget... I remember fishman dropping something along "oh yeah we spent like 20k on art just this month" lines.
I can't see in what world anything less than 1M$ gonna be enough to survive growing pains in EN market, even with SEA salaries.
