It isn't just the scheduling thing, but maybe I'm just biased. I don't think events/conventions lead to vtubers making good content. It is entirely self-referential, so it's a big filter, at least for me, because I don't care about them. It results in at least one to two streams talking about the event/convention. Maybe there's a couple interesting anecdotes, but usually it's dumb shit like, "let's talk about the layout of the convention hall for 20 minutes!"
I'm pretty sure this is a personal trip rather than a Phase thing this time, to be fair. She's allowed to have a break (as in, an actual break to do something she wants to do outside of work, not spending a couple of hours here and there at the con in-between work commitments) and frankly having seen plenty of people turn insane over the years because they're not properly equipped to handle turning their hobbies into jobs, I'm happy to see her just enjoying something because she wants to (even if it was almost definitely her "I can talk about it on stream" content-mind brainrot that pushed her out of the house in the first place).
I don't care for con-related content either since conventions just aren't my scene at all, but the problem here isn't that she's going to a con, it's that she's being kinda flaky about it again, rather than just committing to a week off ahead of time so people know what's what.
Pippa's flakiness & inability to communicate well known even among her genmates. Pippa is the big dog now so its not like the smaller non-PC girls can do anything other than seeth in private dms anyway.
If any of them are mad they should post it on /pcg/ where she'll actually read it
To elaborate on this in a way that Pippa would despise, Pippa is a
mega idol, in that her growth is appealing in parallel with how idols (at least, the superior glorious Nipponese idols) grow. Sure, it's endearing when a newcomer shows up and they don't know what they're doing and make all kinds of amateur mistakes, but that's because you want to cheer them on to get better. You don't want them still tripping over their feet and hitting bum notes five years into their career; you want to be able to appreciate how much they've improved. Pippa is the streamer equivalent of an idol who's finally hitting the mainstream, and despite my scheduling-related criticism, I'm happy for her.
This is probably the gayest thing I've ever wrote, but I stand by it. Stream Pippa the Ripper.
I don't begrudge anyone who's dropped off over time, her content's changed a fair bit and it's not for everyone; but I do begrudge the crab-bucket faggots who took the "she's just like me fr fr" shit at face value and project their own insecurity about themselves onto her whenever they realise how inadequate they are compared to where she is now.
