I'm gonna laugh if she tries comparing it to the skate stuff she retweeted, I've been playing the play test all day and the microtransactions are purely cosmetic. I'm not super keen on the cosmetics that are available but they made getting new ones part of the level/progression stuff so it feels fine for now. Shockingly tame for EA makes me think the skate team had to beat them off with sticks to keep it tame.
E: I was also shocked that name brand stuff was not only available in the paid shop, thats most of what the paid shop is with stuff like thrasher merch but there are some actual brands in the free currency shop

Edit: I don't see how Pippa manages to play Pokemon Go when she self-describes as living in a more rural area. I'm in a relatively populated area and car dependency just doesn't make it feasible to find time to play.
