Seriously. Actual small towns are full of poor people because there's no fucking work there. You either spend 300+ bucks in gas every month on commuting or leave permanently if you want to do anything beyond food service. Poverty rates have been higher in rural areas across the world for the last 100 years for fucks sake, it's why they have such a high suicide rate compared to cities.
