Super-fan to schizo-anti pipeline is intriguing tbh, because i can't quite understand how warped someone's mind has to be for that kind of transition.

Their mind is already warped. You don't really become a schizo-anti without already being schizo. There's definitely a breaking point where they are rejecting reality and lying to themselves to have some sort of idealized version of what they think their "oshi" is. They become schizo-antis because they get a reality check at some point and decide that the best course of action is to heel-turn. Presumably they'd hope that their "one true idol" would notice their "biggest fan" has turned against them and that they'd correct course for the schizo. Instead of just, cutting them off like any rational person would do.

That time when usual suspects on twitter lost their shit over the "please refer to them as mortally challenged" line in the pre-release hype-gameplay demo, then the game comes out and the announcer actually refers to demons as "mortally challenged" throughout all Earth-based sections.

No but seriously deciding to make an actual story, build a "DOOM universe with lore'n shit", etc was IMO one of the biggest blunders Eternal devs did. Incidentally, after they've effectively ended that universe's timeline in Eternal DLC, their only option was to make a prequel.

I have no strong feelings on Doom Lore of all things, it's setdressing for killing all sorts of demons in extremely graphicly violent and awesome ways in cool-looking locations while you have a power fantasy. I like Eternal because it accomplishes this. The cutscenes are skippable, the lore is optional, and it's amusing because in like 90% of them characters are expositing information to the Slayer and he literally just ignores them and does whatever he wants while everybody is terrified.

I loved Eternal. Thanks for reminding me I have to play the 2nd DLC chapter.

Me too, played through the whole campaign and got all the little side collectibles and everything a few years ago. I still have to play both of the DLC chapters though, I forgot to ever get around to doing that. Now that I think about it, probably will actually start them later tomorrow (today?) because I might as well kill time with presumably no streams to watch.

Didn't find anything DOOM games related in Pippa-channel so i'm assuming if she's played them, it was before Pippa. If she hasn't, she honestly should.
