i was a little bit, ran it in the cloud on private google collab space. It's ok, it does about what the others do, just slightly differently. It's a thinking model so it actually outputs its logical steps and process. It's just made for really cheap, that's the biggest thing about it.

I'm not impressed. Everything from China is a ripoff of someone else's technology but made shittier, made so badly that it's not fit for purpose, or just a straight-up scam. Sometimes all three. I wouldn't be surprised if China's AI attempt has some serious skeletons in its closet and isn't all it's claimed to be.

Oh, the part where China stole data from US AI development programs which stole from other people was pretty funny at least.

the cool thing about it is how efficient it is. you can run some of their smaller models on a laptop. Or you can spin up a virtual server with a shit ton of vram and run your own chat-gpt equivalent but with full control and privacy. You can also (and have to when running your own instance) custom train it for certain tasks or purposes.
