Politics isn't anime or video games; it's the kind of shit that affects everything. People thought they could just play video games and disassociate from the real world, and look how that turned out. You can't avoid it as an adult. You don't have to obsess over it and eat, breathe, and live politics of course, but trying that "no politics ever" routine as a grown-ass adult just ends up guaranteeing yourself to smash face-first into the first wall that comes your way, and at best you end up looking ridiculous by simping for authoritarianism not realizing what you're saying.

I'm sure she has considered the consequences when WW3 pops off and they take out all the satellites & coms and she cant log on to the internet anymore. Oh, and a LOT of people die.

At this point it's safe to assume most major nations have explicit intelligence agencies made to rip data from various databases legally acquired or otherwise for the purpose of manipulation.

I will say, especially as someone living in GDPR-land where companies have to jump through countless hoops to store user data even for genuine purposes, it's a massive culture shock to hear people so willing to dismiss privacy concerns because "everyone has your information anyway".

You're never going to have complete control over your personal information and there will be times where it spills out further than you'd like, but with a bit of discipline you can mitigate that. Don't let China arserape you just because Google and Apple have lubed you up.
