I love my Steam Deck, I use it as a second computer because my main one is a shitbox. It is almost always docked to a monitor, KB & Mouse. I very rarely ever use it portably. I have no real hot take on this debate.

It's the best gaming related purchase I've made in a long time but I never take it with me on daytrips, it's too bulky for that. I don't take my switch either, it needs to fit in my pocket if it's something I'm gonna carry with me.
My main PC is way more powerful but I still use the steamdeck more lately for playing actual games.

The new AllyX is really good apparently but I can't imagine using one of these windows handhelds without the trackpads cause there's a lot of times you need to use Windows for tinkering with stuff and using a joystick in windows or the tiny touchscreen is really clunky, unless you plan on using it docked most the time.
There's also a bunch of new ones coming out lately, MSI and Lenovo are also about to release new iterations of their handhelds as well (and have shown some improvements on their previous ones) and they're all in a similar price range.
Even if it's not as powerful as the rest Steamdeck is still king to me.
i used to be a sony fanboy too until they sued 21yo hacker Geohot for getting root access on the ps3. his response was kino though:
the only sony products i use now are their mirrorless cams.
