Remember how holoID were supposed to be the second class citizens? :SelenHAHAhere:
I thought both HoloEN and ID were treated as second-class back in the day (before 2023). I don't know if I was really around before Moona or Ollie hit their stride and got ID growing to know how bad it was for them before then. Neither EN or ID's issues could really be compared to being folded into the main branch of a Japanese corporation and having the managers who have been helping you for your whole career suddenly taken from you, though.

Going from Nijisanji to Kawaii of all places raises concerns (not that we didn’t already know Nijisanji was bad)
Honestly it is concerning but imo it's a wait and see situation. She seems to be taking her role as Lethe without any sorts of issue (her PL account hasn't say anything bad beyond her grogginess during Lethe's debut), so I can guess that unless Kawaii went full retard, Lethe should be fine for now. I'm not gonna go full numberfags over the differences between Lethe and Azura, but if she's happy if Kawaii is well, Kawaii, then I think it would be just fine.

I called you Shit Scuddle because he at least provided some good Niji info and did not limit herself to just defend Anycolor
Hey, I just answered the guys question.
Remember how holoID were supposed to be the second class citizens? :SelenHAHAhere:

Scuddle's main issue wasn't being smug, he just bit the bait too many times and had a stick up his ass. Then he went on a massive grudge-fueled tribalist rampage against Hololive making every bad-faith argument he could and quit the thread in tears several times because people were mean to him.

I should know, I was one of the people who would routinely butt heads with him.
I see, maybe I am remembering wrong/selectively. I remember it being a lot more "all sides", but to be fair I wasn't part of it and only followed the threads religiously during debuts and major scandals.

Was it him or another Nijifag that complained to Proctor and we ended up with tribalism post?

I’m mainly* talking about how Kawaii’s a much smaller company, and how leaving the bigger one for the smaller one is never a good sign (but once again, we know Niji bad).
*I also have my negative opinions about how hard Kawaii leans into GFE, but that’s a me thing, not an objective thing. So to say I’m not biased would be wrong

It's been 3 hours since Vox's tickets for Anime Impulse went up and they still haven't sold out. Meanwhile all of StarsEN have sold out within 63mins while costing $85 per ticket to NijiEN's $50 tickets. Vantacrow Bringer remains the only NijiEN to have their tickets sold out.

I think there is something there that you can say that it probably has to do with location. It is possible NijiEN's fanbase in the US is smaller than StarsEN's. Also, it is possible there are more tickets available for NijiEN in total than StarsEN.

Its not a surprise because Most NijiEN males fans are chinks/asians

- ZEA Cornelia ended up focusing on ID anime dubbings and got some decent gigs
Is that what happened to her? I know she was streaming as her pudding girl avatar for a while- and even had memberships until around February(?) where her memberships were closed and she's been mildly inactive (except for her recent cover she uploaded) since.
It was @this shit and he bitched specifically about me.
Really fucking ironic because you're in this thread giving honestly decent takes for Nijisanji.

I definitely think it is a regional issue and it's why I've been following it. Even if they somehow had 10x as many tickets available for Vox Akuma than someone like Bettel, it should have taken like 30mins for Vox to sellout as Bettel sold out in just 2 minutes. Regional fanbases are likely at play here and the age of their fans. Vox's fanbase is mostly chinks/Asians and those that do live state-side are underage girls that can't afford to travel. It would also explain why Axel took 63mins to sell out while the second longest to sell out for StarsEN was Flayon with 20mins. Axel is known for having a chunk of his fanbase being Japanese and as @Zyklon Mag pointed out, his announcement tweet was around the time of the eclipse. Meanwhile it's been joked that Bettel is the most profitable StarsEN talent because he tapped into the late 20s/mid 30s female office worker audience that want to fix him and love their broken boy, so that group can definitely afford to travel.

Overall I'm just tracking the data because it is another point signaling NijiEN's fading relevance in the West.

My honest take on the whole situation is disappointment.

I do not hate Niji, nor had I for the longest time thought that they were better off gone from the industry (the current situation makes me unable to in good faith state that they aren't absolutely deplorable, and shouldn't change for the better or go bankrupt, but that comes from a place of genuine distaste for their practices specifically, not some overgeneralized hatred of corpos or japan or "idol culture") in general I like Niji a lot better than many things in the modern vtuber industry. While they never followed exactly on the ideals which I view a "true vtubing" (as cringe as that is to put into words), they were still a historically important, industry changing, good rival to Hololive and an alternative which offered a distinct, but still not too dissimilar from the parameters established by the 2016-2019 era industry, form of content.

I will not claim that I haven't been tribalistic, we all are in some way as humans, I have taken unfair shots at Niji, kicked them and their fans when they were down, made REALLY bad faith arguments against them, looped and relooped on issues which in other contexts would've been rightly written off as non-problematic. But as I said before, Niji, in a content-wise assessment removed from their management practices, is an agency I would take over basically anything else on the market today. I dislike how the industry (mainly in the west) seems to be changing, something which I've made obvious through some of my less glamorous posts as of late (yes I am that painfully self aware). All of the coomer-pandering and fleshtubing and spitting on the standards of corpos as morally bankrupt as seen through a western lens by bad actors who never cared in the first place really doesn't sit well with me.

I am truly disappointed that Niji had to shoot themselves in the foot and fumble things so badly, that they vindicate all of this "vtubing-less vtubing" and the slow and gradual degradation and brushing away of everything that made the early years of the industry what it was. Now we see vtubing is just a dumb gimmick, just streamers with avatars that we can obsess over and pick the smallest one to play some perverse game of "groom the desperate girl" and nothing more, what is even the point?

I defend Niji because I do not like circlejerking in discussions, when everyone agrees then what is even the point of having a discussion anymore? I do not like it when conversations devolve into a rat-race to see who can be the most hateful or """correct""" to prove their virtue and moral superiority, when people start making shit up or stomping on the standards they once held to get a quick shot of clout, that NEEDS to be stopped. I don't like Niji, but I don't hate them either, I wish they were a better rival to Holo and kept up the legacy of the old corpo powerhouses, but at some point nitpicking their faults and laughing at them for the thousandth time gets boring. Call it contrarianism or what have you but if a point has been made I do not see the purpose in restating it.

Last time I was tracking the ticket sales for an event, the only one who struggled to sell meet n greet tickets was Kyo. Most sold out within an hour, with a couple of them taking a day, probably due to the same issue as Axel, putting tickets on sale when their fanbase was asleep/at work. When it's a mass issue that's pretty concerning, as this is your most delusional diehard fans who attend this events
Edit: I went and checked my own post and it was Aster, not Kyo. I swear it's not intentional I actually can't tell them apart. Also Illuna in general didn't sell all of the tickets not just him.

It's ok, sometimes I think Aster isn't a real niji talent and we all just kind of collectively dreamt him up

So I did a little bit more digging and it turns out that everyone in StarsEN has 2 timeslots to sell out, which they have done.

In NijiEN, they all have 2 timeslots except for Bandage, Wilson, and Vanta. So Vanta sold out because he had only 1 timeslot. So far the only other NijiEN that has sold out a timeslot is Fulgur with his 3pm timeslot sold out but he still has tickets for his 4pm.

Interestingly enough, the StarsEN meet & greets are 3mins long while the NijiEN meet & greets are limited to 1min. The StarsEN timeslots are also 1hr long, which means 20 tickets potentially in each timeslot. Meanwhile NijiEN timeslots are up to 1.5 hrs from what I can tell, so that's potentially 90 tickets. Here's the really fun part though. StarsEN limits you to 1 ticket per person, so 1 ticket for a 3min M&G with StarsEN for $85. NijiEN lets you buy up to 3 tickets per person, so 3 tickets for a 3min M&G with NijiEN for $150.

Who wants to bet that they'll remove the ticket limit for Niji to sell the rest. I'm sure there are a few crazies willing to buy 15 tickets. I'd totally buy 15 minutes worth of IRyS or Bae time...

For anyone that has been to a meet and greet: would 1 minute feel like enough? 3 minutes almost feels like too much, but 1 seems pretty short.

Bettelion are all ryona enthusiasts and possibly capable of violent sex crimes.

One minute is definitely not enough. In the first 20 seconds, you're trying to calm yourself down because you're actually meeting your cool anime boy/girl (and the talent is also probably trying not to spill spaghetti on their end as well). The 2-3 minutes flies by pretty damn fast. You'll know when time's up after you're sperging out about stuff with your oshi and then they ask you if you want a picture. It's long enough to have a short conversation but small enough you feel like you want more.

I make an overly rational effortpost every once in a while, most of the time I just feel like people won't read overly long posts/will mock me for making them or others just make the same points better than I ever could. It's much easier to shitpost and I don't feel like silly vtuber talk merits essays anyway.
