not a rom-hack, but a fully fledged fan-game, Xenoverse: Per Aspera Ad Astra is my gold standard of fan-made Pokemon games

the team is also taking their experience in making the game to make an HD-2D not-Pokemon style of game, LumenTale:



It's been in development for about a year since its crowdfunding, they're at around 60% Animon completion, last I checked they're shooting for a late-2024 release, but I fully anticipate a 2025 delay. It's another example of "If Pokemon won't do it, other developers will", regarding HD-2D and gameplay enhancements.

I doubt Pippa could stream Xenoverse without fishman breathing down her neck, but LumenTale is a safe bet

Game devs are too focused on artsy stuff stripped down to be accessible to everyone built into the gameplay itself (not talking about accessibility options) that it just becomes generic slop. I still think this game is generic but it definitely built with fun in mind. Which is something modern games lack. Most game devs don't like fun.

Pokemon SV DLC is $35, even without the discount Palworld is cheaper and a better content value for the money spent

...I've spent several hundred hours in the games and DLC, I love them, but Palworld is showing we could have *more*
