In fairness that's probably mostly a cost-cutting thing, but audiences are becoming more receptive to it because stilted, grammatically awkward translations are still preferable to whatever political diatribes or "topical" memes the overweight women who work in localisation want to shoehorn in.
The perk is that machine learning will improve over time, while stubborn human workers who hate their audience will continue to butcher the work because they're bitter.
