To be fair, Clerks was great but all of the big budget Kevin Smith movies were gay as shit. Really most movies suck regardless.

Well yeah, each year there really is only a handful of actually good and or well made movies out of hundreds. Doesn't help that they used to pump out more movies back then for far cheaper so you get some atrocious movies.

The big difference is so much money is being pumped into modern movies and advertising that it's unlikely anything will stand the test of time in comparison to lower budget movies from decades prior that had a good story to carry them despite not having the best visuals.

Modern blockbusters needing half a billion just to break even blows my mind. It's why we're seeing more and more failures from Disney, Warner Bros., etc.
