A lot of people – many of whom weren't trying to have anything to do with politics and just wanted to play a game – had to deal with social media harassment campaigns in the process. That's not really negligible, is it? It's something I wouldn't want to see repeated, at least. In this case, the harassment has mostly been directed just at Kirsche (and secondarily Leaflit), but that's mostly because they represented, to the Vice crowd, a juicier target than Vallure and the other people who criticised Valens's article on Vallure.

Yes, it got her blacklisted from large sections of the industry and convention scene, and it was only her company standing by her that wedged those doors back open.

A concrete example of this is that the Offkai manager who had beef with Kirsche also said that the staff (or at least, some part of the staff) would have blocked Pippa from the convention if Phase had not officially sponsored them.
