Anime fighting games have a much better rep now thanks to DBFZ and Strive but early 2000s-2010s was deadass like some 1920s segregation kinda shit. Not only did you deal with the usual pedophile accusations that came with anime, but for some reason anime FGs had a rep of being baby execution games? Imagine the insanity of calling MBAC or GGXX easy execution because you played fucking Street Fighter. It was a constant divide for years until more people came to realize how in-depth they really were.

That's why Idol Showdown existing and doing well warms my old ass heart. Korone's having so much fun playing currently and almost 40,000 people are watching her. No way in hell that was happening with any anime fighting game 15-20 years ago.

I just get most of my info on subjects I'm not personally familiar with from here to be honest. But if I do watch vides, it's usually False. He does a reasonable job of providing unbiased and comprehensive roundups of the news.
