Everyone thinks the next Great Big Yab will come from one of the big corpos/talents imploding. They fail to realize we may be witnessing the Unicorn Mass Death Event.

And it turns out I was completely fucking wrong. Gura, instead of sacrificing random NijiEN livers for her streams, has sacrificed an entire website (4chan) for her graduation. The random dead unicorns were the warning signs.

For the record, I think having the staffs and all the equipment in the same room is absolutely fine, and might even be better than the usual Hololive/Niji approach,
It makes the set looks more like a holywood/TV set. The glass separating them is really fucking tacky though.

Btw looking at the set and after reading the article, seems like they cheaped out on the motion tracking camera. They used something calls Optitrack Prime 17W, which goes for $3,999/camera at retail price. Hololive/Nijisanji uses something called Vicon Valkyrie VK26, which goes for $60,000 retail. Tbf, Hololive & Nijisanji are fucking insane with how much they splerged on cameras. Hololive reportedly bought 200 of them, which would easily be $10 million even with a 16% bulk buying discount. Nijisanji didn't report their number, but imma eyeball it as 50 from their picture.
Brave Group managed to raise $47.9 millions in 5 rounds of funding. Hololive literally spent 1/5 of Brave's money on camera and camera alone.
In the article Brave said they have Vicon too and will "alternate between Vicon & Optitrack dependings on needs", but I didn't see a single Vicon in the picture. The two camera have very different and distinctive shapes.

To be 100% fair those studios have to be dark for the tracking to work. Just Holo and Niji realize they should turn the lights on for the photograph. There were equally dark looking shots of Niji's old studio around back in 2022. There's also a very old ~2019 era video of Hololive's office from back when they only had an in office studio and it was truly small, like, 3 cubicles kind of small. I remember seeing it on the KF thread but not sure where it's gone. There's no way even 2020 era concerts were filmed in that thing so there's probably some intermediate studio that they never showed on camera.

Well, this fucking sucks. I mean I haven't watched her in a long time, but any graduation from HoloMyth is going to hit me like a train at mach speed. They were the ones who solidified the Vtuber boom in the west, and seeing one graduate, even if it was someone who barely streamed like Gura, still hurts.

On the other hand I'm fucking ecstatic that /vt/ is dead, the amount of rrats and seething that would have leaked from there would have soured me even more

So this will be interesting because while I've long since moved on and hardly get excited anymore when she rarely does stream Gura still is the very first VTuber I ever saw just randomly popping up on my YouTube one night back in 2020 in like her second week after debut so it will still sting a bit.
