Vtuber discords are a magnet for parasocialism that goes both ways. Nothing stops these people making a fan discord. It's better that way, because then the talent can disavow the actions taken by its members instead of being automatically responsible for everything that happens there in the eyes of the public. The fewer chances a creature like SOTI or Spooki have to try and worm their way into a vtuber's good graces, the better.

Even the literal whorecorpo Vallure decided not to have an official Discord. The women who objectively benefit from having parasocial fans decided it was a bad idea. More vtubers should learn from their example, and it disturbs me to have to say that.

I don't disagree, but in that case it would have been a better move to just hand over the server's reigns to her current mod team, since she said she's gonna be reshuffling it too anyway, and maybe nuke her own posts in it at worst. People react poorly to having the online spaces they hang out in taken away from them, and combined with the parasocial element you mentioned it just feels like the perfect recipe for breeding extra-schizo antis.

I believe so BUT it can be bypassed if you have contacts. Vshojo girls all start out with affiliate. Back when Mythos first debuted they had that Moist Critical voice over trailer. I always assumed that he, or Nux were somewhat involved with the corpo.
