It turns out the guy she was collabing with, Meowdy_Purrtner, was streaming his perspective. I timestamped the moment where it starts getting weird. Be warned, on an autism scale from 1 to 10, this guy is an 11.

I just love how she is clearly uncomfortable and Autismo McGee here can't pick up on it at all and proceeds to double and triple down.

I feel like I've been pretty clear that I also think there are a lot of problems, and I'm just suggesting an idea that may be a smaller, more subtle factor within one of the problems. But maybe I've just been overestimating the reading comprehension of ESL's.
If you have more insight, what would you say are some of the problems, aside from the obvious ones?

You genuinely sound like an idiot. I'm not saying to watch them, I'm not saying I want to watch them, I have not said anything remotely similar to what you're arguing against and in fact I have been pretty clear that I don't want to watch them because, for the most part, I don't like their personalities. The point is that I am trying to analyze certain aspects of why their fanbases suck.

Purpose:
This thread is a general catch-all for almost everything vtuber related.

This is a thread to talk about things, people do it all the time. In fact we have thousands upon thousands of pages of people talking about random stuff that is related to vtubers, including theories, rrats, and discussions about fanbases. Even more specifically, how certain vtubers attract certain fanbases, for example Ironmouse reaching out to collab with and pull in normie flesh streamers, which almost invariably lowers the quality of her own audience (but also not neglecting the negative influences of her doing react-slop and sleeping subathons). Most of the time we don't get unicorns seething here just because a topic is related to males, though.

Where are you getting 'anger' from (besides frustration at people not understanding what I am saying and putting words in my mouth)? I prefaced the whole thing with it being a random thought that popped in my head because I saw a clip of that no-view twitch collab with the guy being a creep and I had recently been annoyed by trigger warnings in Goldbullets pre-chat. A simple, "Huh, this is a new angle to look at this phenomenon of the modern Stars audience being very SJW-esque." I don't need to be heavily invested in the topic to muse on it or have thoughts about it.

If I only posted about things I cared about, I'd only ever post about IRyS, Mumei, Nimi, and the rest of Promise (which I often do for vast periods of time). But sometimes I'll have opinions on other things too.

There are too many to fit in a single post but i will say what i think the most important ones in my opinion:
1- They debuted too late: By June of 2019 when Miyabi (the first Holostars ever) debuted there where already dozens of established male vtubers to compete for an audience (Kuzuha,Kanae,Chaika,Kenmoya,Gilzaren III,Yashiro,Kanda,Maimoto,Banderas,etc.) so they already started pretty bad
2- They had no budget: Kinda Relates to the previous point , the stars where a personal Project created by Yagoo so he had to be their manager until it was handed over to Daidou Shinove , this lack of support in their debut also made things hard

Random 5 am thought, but how much of the Holostars terrible audience is Hololive/unicorns fault?

Now obviously talents like Goldbullet and Hakka that push for 'safe spaces' and 'trans rights' and such make their own choices, but ignoring the individual personalities: ENStars were/are essentially shunned away from collabing with any of the girls (even the ones who would collab with them originally) and harassed non-stop by schizo unicorns. Thus they did not have many people to collab with in-company and they gravitated towards the indie/Niji/Vshojo crowd, and picked up those kinds of fans, leading to their fanbases being the kind to post 'trigger warnings', as I recently pointed out.

Now, I think a majority of the blame for their audiences lie on the talents themselves, but it gets me wondering in the same way I wonder about Chris chan; Would it have been as bad if they weren't so criticized?

Male vtuber viewership tends to skew female, and women are more likely to post trigger warnings to help others/virtue signal. However, the chat shitlibs are tolerated rather than unquestioningly followed in the fandom and tend to show up in certain vtubers chats over others. Otherwise, the morons trying to cancel Astel and Miyabi for posting McDonalds wouldn't have been chased out of the fanbase (rest in piss, or I guess in rubble Yve). Or Bettel would've gotten browbeaten for not respecting Ezra Miller's pronouns in Magni's chat. Axel also would've had way more issues, comparable to Nina, if this was the case but everyone's chill with Axelotls.

They won't ever be hives of basedness outside of /mans/ racistposting, but there's a strong distaste for dragging talents into politically related matters. I think the small fanbase size is helping here tbh
