Idk but if she was just a red panda, I think her first few months in Holo would at least have been a little easier
I do think her debut outfit/design was part of the debuff she got at the very beginning
Not the only thing, we all know her early voice would still have been a debuff. But, as the clip shows, Kiara auditioned as a character, with a character voice. At the core, you can tell that unlike the other Myth girls who just auditioned as themselves, Kiara used the tried and tested japanese way. With a character and well a character voice. Long time ago, before she lowered her voice, she said that she doesn't want to lower her voice even tho she knows some people don't like it because she believed that changing her voice would be breaking her contract with Cover. (???) She said that she auditioned with a certain voice, she got accepted on the merit of that character voice, so the managers are expecting her to speak like that and not differently. Were she to change her voice, she would stop putting out content the way Cover expects her to.
This all, was of course, nonsense. Its just her brainworms talking to her lmao
Like, Hololive was cooking great when they made the drafts for the first Myth members. Long before any of them were even drawn, let alone cast or rigged.
All the Myth girls are quite simple to explain when you break them down to their core with just one or two defining character traits:
- Calli:
- Grim Reaper
- Ina:
- Cuthlu Girl with tentacles
- Gura:
- Shark girl
- Ame:
- Detective
- Kiara:
- Phoenix
- Warrior but kinda Tokusatsu
- Fast-food???
- Also she's sporty, so give her trainers
I will never get why all the others have a clear and simple core idea but, somehow Kiara can't just be a Phoenix, she also has to be fast-food themed on the side.
Anyways, while a red panda probably wouldn't have changed anything about her voice, shit living situation and crappy Internet in her debut months, it probably would have been easier to come up with a fitting Lore, Fanname and mascot that resonates with more people at a glance. At least compared to having to fit both a Phoenix and a Fast-food theme.
Thats also why, despite Kiara and Calli talking about swapping models pre-debut, I don't think anyone but her and her weird brain could have taken the Fast-food concept and run as well and as far as she did with it.

I don't know about the Phoenix half, but Calli definitely sounds like an old fast food manager.
She might qualified as one of the firsts but she didnt start anything.
1. She physically can not start virtual youtube because she was streaming on twitch. Again, it's not called vtwitcher or vstreamer.
The definition changed over time to include her. Needed like 4 years after vtubing began for her to be accepted as one
2. Even inside the twitch sphere, what kinda content influence does ironmouse really has?
She didnt invent react, she didnt invent singing, she didnt invent subathons and sleeping.
If anything silvervale or some other girl is the most influential early twitch vtuber. You know how every vtubers on twitch do the exact same fake whore voice, whoever did that first kickstarted twitch EN vtubing not ironmouse.
Similarly there are many who piloted motion tracked anime girls years before Kizuna Ai.
But none of them really defined the term vtubing like Ai did.
3. The ones that started EN vtubing for EN vtubing fans and not normies has always been credited to Natsumi Moe & friends and rightfully so.
I really wonder what the fuck VShojo promised mikeneko/kson to get them to forfeit their careers in order to stream on their dead-end platform that nobody cares about inside of japan

When vshojo threw money at them, twitch was largely untested water in japan for female vtubing. It was dominated by male streamers (and kanae being one of them).
It's a lot more popular platform these days in 2025 yes.
Did you think mikeneko/kson joined vshojo because they wanted to stream on twitch?
Similarly even if by some miracle IRIAM becomes the biggest, best platform in 2030. I would still say people only join IRIAM in 2024-2025 cuz they were offered money to do so.
