Question to Ex-Corpo watchers:
Do you think their content improved after they left their Corpo?

We often reference how Kson left Hololive for more talent freedom at Vshojo but all she ever does is get chummy with Gravure Idols. I can respect that, but her content as Coco was just so much better.
Lando/ Caspurr seems to be similar case of someone leaving their corpo only for their content to take a nosedive.

What are some examples of Ex-Corpos clearly taking advantage of their new freedom to make new and better content? And I am asking about the content because its obvious that all the Ex-Nijis are having a better life, but that doesnt mean the content got any good.

I just have the impression that a lot of People just kinda stay the same, like Randon or Dooby. They don't really seem to do much that was actually forbidden before but they didn't turn lazy either.

I'm going to be honest, I think this question is fundamentally flawed. There's a hint of "indie bad" here that everybody seems to be running with, and I don't particularly agree with it. For one, there are exactly 3 corporations in EN v-tubing that actually treat their employees well enough for leaving to not be a net positive, and your idea of "content" seems to be solely through the lens of a Hololive watcher. For two, your biggest ex-corpo example is Kson, who was an "indie" for less than a year and then joined the 3rd largest corporation in EN. She's not an indie, and the question you really seem to be asking is "Are there any valid reasons for people to leave Hololive?"

If we're counting Kson as an ex-corpo, then we should count Gigi as an ex-corpo too: she joined Holo after leaving V4Mirai, after all. You don't seem to be worried about Gigi's content after leaving her initial corporation, though. :botanshrug:

WARNING: This post got very rant-ish, and way more aggressive than I intended, but I feel the points are decent enough, so I don't want to delete everything.... probably better to just read the tl;dr. Enter at your own risk
:painpeko:

To address the "Hololive Watcher Content" problem further: Inherently, the people with the most drive to create a specific kind of content are going to congregate towards large v-tubing corporations on their own anyways. I'm talking the big mega-concerts, the sports sponsorships, the record deals. It's not impossible to fund this content as an indie or get a large amount of money/recognition on your own (particularly for the most talented individuals, Senzawa could have done it alone eventually if she wanted to). There are indies out there who have done a bunch of cool projects according to their own ambitions as well.

But as a general rule, the people who want to do that as part of a streaming career self-selected into a big corpo a long time ago, because big projects are much easier when you're represented by a corporation. You can't just walk into Universal and ask for a record deal anymore, those days are long dead. You can't just canvas the street looking for sponsors and expect anyone beyond a sketchy ass internet company like Loot Crate or something. So people with those goals get into a corporation and STAY there. You will never see Fuwamoco leave to go do big projects elsewhere, they self-selected into a corporation and are not going to try to work outside that box. So as a general rule, the most project and content driven v-tubers are going to be in a corpo anyways. Bijou is the perfect example of this, she's an incredibly talented person with a gift for content creation, but her goal was specifically to join Hololive and make content for Hololive. That's just how much influence Holo has had over v-tubing.
Now if you're actually talking pure entertainment, as in simple "man these streams are just really good" type stuff. This is fundamentally not going to change when people leave Hololive. Part of the appeal of v-tubing, at least for me, is that you get to see a certain amount of people's personalities, and Hololive in particular understands that and tries to let the girls shine where they can. There should never have been some unrealistic expectation for them to be someone different, unless they were working for a shitty corporation....

...which brings in the ex-Nijis. I'll be blunt. All of the ex-Niji talents who cared about their content in the company still care about content. Mint cares about concerts and idol stuff. She has done more of that in the past year than she did in her time at Niji. Her normal streams have, if anything, improved. She can use game mods, shit on bad games, talk about the horrific romance novels she goons to without fear of getting suspended for brand risk, and screech about how much she hates Haley Joel Osment's tiny face without fear of repercussion.
Matara still is the same person, making the same content (mostly on twitch though :urtearingmeapart:). She has also purged her fanbase of Nijisisters and can interact with guys like Bricky about Warhammer and Halo lore to her heart's content. She can go to conventions and mingle with people to her heart's content. And yes, she can occasionally post pictures on twitter of her IRL dress, and then blab about IRL dresses for 5 hours on stream without getting hammered by her boss for it. The rest of her content has not particularly changed.

Michi, when I've had the time to watch her, has seemed much the same. Weird sheltered Indo version of Shiori, same as always.

Dokibird got to arrange a bunch of mega-collabs and tournaments featuring both independent and corporate v-tubers. She is trying to become a brand ambassador for Marvel rivals to hide the fact that she is cripplingly addicted to it. She is coming out of her shell slightly and improving her life at home. Her overall balance of content is more FPS focused but the streams themselves have not changed.

So why are you expecting streams where, despite the fact that you have known these women for years, they're suddenly entirely different people who are also better at content creation? Dooby's streams are the same as Ame's because she IS Ame. She gets a way bigger cut of her income, she gets to use her home 3D in all of her streams for weird fun shit like driving a little car around or working out on monkey bars, and she gets to have her brother on stream screeching about Fortnite without having him sign an NDA or asking her manager first, that's what she gained by leaving. The goal here IS for them to stay the same, because now they're making more money, are happier, and can play games like Deus Ex without 10 years of permissions autism. They can use minecraft performance packages that aren't terrible. They can collab with friends outside the company on demand. They own their own IPs and models. These are not small benefits.

Tl;dr: A lot of the benefits of leaving a corporation are not reflected in "better content" per se, but instead in things that make the v-tubers happier. IP ownership, no game permissions necessary, no paperwork for collabs, etc. There was never going to be a Dragonball moment where a v-tuber takes off their corpo shackles and instantly their streams are 10x more powerful. If a v-tuber wants to do huge projects or ambitious mega-content, they're just going to stay in Holo and do it there. The goal for an ex-Holomem isn't to make better content, it's to make the same content while having a much higher QoL.

So is Flork's agency more than just a meme? I keep seeing funny stuff about it pop up on twitter and I enjoy the guy's comics. Do any of you watch those girls and are they any good?
Camizolle is a low energy hag that is ok enough, she is an uber coomer with a Fansly to the point where some Anons stapled a koikatsu animation to her moans

It's a legit microcorpo, but it follows in the typical western cynicism and satirization of the industry and the talents are massive coomer pandering whores.

Currently the Towl is supposedly still addicted to Overwatch 2, so Holofags better pray Doki doesn't get her addicted to Marvel Rivals
Why? We could only be so lucky for that to happened. That would be a strict upgrade.

I disagree, I like OW2 as the underdog meme game that nobody actually likes, it makes the streams more funny to me.
Also I am not interested in playing either game, but I would be more tempted to try to join potential viewer games in Marvel Rivals, so I don't want that because I'd just get annoyed when I fail to get in.

Inis (the German bird girl) is entertainingly retarded from what I’ve seen. I only watch her through YouTube clips or collabs though so I’m not too sure how she is typically.

There's a ton of 2views grinding gm, but she's the only one pushing for one above all.

Many of these people dont feel the need to have to constantly improve which is something that happens when you are part of group full of highly motivated and highly creative individuals. Hell some of that creativity also dies when as indies they can just do react content which many people love to watch. Its brain dead content where you dont have to do shit, just get paid to react to shit people request.
My hot take is that not everyone needs to be constantly "improving". If you've figured out a fun kind of stream that people enjoy, doing more of that isn't bad. If anything I get annoyed when some Holos are so busy working on the "big projects" (supposedly) or what have you that it limits their time for ordinary streams.

It's real in that there are some actual vtubers that actually stream, but the meminess is the only reason people have heard of it. I didn't find anyone outstanding personally.

Shiina: Do you guys like the smell of gasoline?

Shiina, that's bad. Pippa sung a whole song about the dangers of gasoline.
