A vtuber agency I've never heard of has just exploded.

One talent as far as I can tell has a Youtube video scheduled about it.

Oh, this was the company that got a bunch of VTubers to do watchalongs of their first concert last month. So this was a really quick collapse. For some reason, I was under the impression they had some kind of association with Production Kawaii.

Knew of them because of Raki and Wisu's watchalong:

Come to think of it, this happened just one day after Wisu's birthday too. She's never beating the corpo killer allegations...

There's a company that aims to have a vtuber concert on USS Hornet. E:I thought they were just organising. Turns out they have their own talents.

How much money did they blow to do this? Also, vtuber concerts look good in dark stadiums and theaters because the screens are semi-concealed, this is obviously just going to be a big screen on an aircraft carrier...

A quick google shows me that the USS Hornet is a downed WWII aircraft carrier, and it's now become a museum and event place that can seat up to 3000 people in San Francisco.

A proper cinema would have been better but from what I can see it has most of the facilities for this besides the giant screen.

Okay so it's like any other venue just... a ship? That's fine then, good for catching people's attention I guess, though these small ass groups trying to trip over each other to make concerts is kinda silly to me. You don't NEED to do concerts to be a good agency, my recommendation would be to actually build up an audience first which would then lead to events, Holo has certainly shown that concerts are more of a waste of money than anything and only really serve as fanservice (they burn a ton of money on fes which is only offset by ridiculous prices on everything and merch).

TBH, probably not as much as you think. These museum ships are always hurting for staff and volunteers and are lucky to break even after donations, as the ship's ongoing maintenance is costly. I wouldn't be surprised if they waved the Offkai numbers with some upfront cash + a profit-sharing agreement, and the Hornet staff jumped at the opportunity.

The problem is that she's working in a very pop-dominated industry, and she clearly wants to be making music that isn't that. Record producers in the genre have picked up an unfortunate common practice of pitch-correcting all non-perfect notes rather than just the most egregious offenders, meaning the subtleties in a vocal performance that give it personality get lost in translation. Her produced music sounds fine in a technical sense, but they're not uniquely Gura like her raw karaoke performances, and I'd wage a guess that's what's putting her off about it.

The producers she's working with aren't exactly doing anything wrong since that kind of production is incredibly popular and the vast majority of music you hear on the radio these days is handled like that, but it means she's never going to sound like the '80s citypop artists she's into since pitch correction wasn't an option, let alone expected, when those records were made.
but that sounds like she is stuck with using western producers, which she is not?
She could just use one of those guys who did music she likes for one of the JP talents, I am sure among the by now 100s of JP Hololive songs, there is one guy she would work well with and could very easly get that connection through Holostaff or directly another member

I believe what Gura needs is just a producer who gets her, and stick with him. Like Suisei and Takou Inoue and Marine and Tobey Fox or Kiara and Kira and so on

I'll agree with her, her karaoke stuff is in general better than the produced stuff I still think its a shame to not release anything at all just because she isn't 100% happy with it.
She also said that Full Color might show up from time to time in lives, but not to expect anything more from it.
from what I understood, it's issues with the MV that is holding up her song? Which is a shame, if there are perms issues or artist for the animation died or whatever, just redo the MV and with a shark.png that turns and flips and that's it.
I still think it's better to release something that is the result of compromise than nothing at all. The song is cute and it should at least have a YT music release, but I do get the feeling that Gura is very particular about her visions, and if can't be done she will rather not do it at all than do it in a different way. Which is a shame ngl.

looking at their page it says that they are a non-profit made to keep warships as museums, so they are obviously owned by the feds.

museum warships in the US let people use their ships as a venue for things, there was a convention on one like last year called carriercon, and I think a gacha game had an event aboard one of them too but I don't remember the details.

So a quick look at the talents of VFleet and the talents are sitting between 750 to 3K followers on Twitch. They're also anime girls with large tits that they claim are based on military vehicles. The venue choice makes sense based on that, but I don't know if I'd be trying to host a live concert if my most popular talent didn't even have 3K followers. Only a very small fraction of the fanbase is going to attend a live vtuber concert.

This honestly looks like a group trying to run before they've even taken their first steps. They should be spending money advertising, maybe hosting meet-and-greets at cons to build up the fanbase and their following. Concerts are a long-term goal that is something that medium and large corpos should be shooting for, not a no-name corpo that's still trying to get brand recognition.

Something tells me they either pitched the idea or got scouted by offkai and the con is footing most of the bill here so they have relatively low costs, which would honestly be a really good deal. But in that case idk wtf offkai is thinking burning money for such an irrelevant group... maybe after this year's con nobody wants to work with them... :SelenHAHAhere: WHAT AM I SAYING? Nobody in this damn industry has any standards... but I sure hope whoever is behind vfleet (cringe name) knows enough to not borrow tech off of the con... we wouldn't want the concert to sputter out randomly now would we?

Here's offkai's tweet about it. They are saying "diverse lineup" so it's not just them, which makes more sense.

There's a real chance Pippa's boatgame autism manifests and she's one of the performers. Or she's the only person in the audience, both possibilities.

Fish would be seriously retarded to work with offkai again. Was the drama earlier this year not enough?

Hope their diverse lineup includes some talents who actually have subs.

Depends on if he saw the important noombers go up after OffKai, and if he considers the tradeoff to be good enough.

I have been following them for a couple weeks now since well, the idea of having big tits anime girls based on military planes/jets is honestly really cool. Models aren't bad. Some of them are entertaining.
My guess is that the corpo is owned by some rich autistic guy that just really love planes. Or maybe the feds like blueshark said. Honestly, i dont really get why a lot of people here love looking down on agencies who spend money to try and make something cool for their talents. Its almost as if these small corpos should remain small until they close shop or if they get a lucky break with 1 talent catching the algorythm anttention.
