There's a big difference between what vtubers do and literally advertising porn to children. If twitch was 18+ that's one thing, but it's not.

I didn't watch or care about the awards, but I will use it as ammunition in my 'Don't compare Twitch numbers to Youtube numbers because Youtube actively suppresses their numbers' argument.
Obviously the show was Twitch-centric just due to the people who put it on, but even so, Youtube streamers (Hololive) apparently took home many wins? Even homefield advantage was not enough for Twitch.

I was hoping award shows would of stayed and died in the normie sphere but they spilled over into twitch and now vtubers. Yeah, that was half the fun of watching The Game Awards this year. Snoys were triggered that Spider-Man 2 got nominated for 7 awards and won 0, Nintendrones were upset that Zelda didn't win GOTY, and Xboxfags were made that Starfield only got 1 nomination.

Ok so I finished skimming through Filian's Vtuber awards thing. All in all it's a great success.

- There were like a ton of Vtuber awards this year and they all received really bad repution. Mostly because it seems like they knows 0 shit about vtubing or have incredibly weird category. One of them is even a clear scam shitpost giving long standing award to a bedridden girl. Compared to them this one is better by a mile.
- The clipping choices was awkward but honestly that's every award events. Some small hiccups on using AI arts of all thing.
- The event looked great and she was able to fill out 5 hours, despite alot of the guests appearance are very last minute. Also able was scored a lot of sponsors, would rather see someone like Naggz/Koefficient invited to narrate instead of them purplefag. The whole event looked very high effort compared to ehem whatever NijisanjiEN 3d concerts did.
- Note that while she's a big indie, she's still an indie with no big team/org behind her. For someone who only streams using her VRchat model cuz she's too cheap to pay for live2D, she came a long way.

- This event gave her access to a demographic she has never dipped into before: Niji/Hololive fans, whether or not they will watch her, she at least get some brand recognition.
- And the number one reason why it's a success is the award TRIGGERED THE SHIT OUT OF VTWEETERS AND /VT/

It was ok. I know some of the nominees are fan-voted but they should really curate that shit in some cases. Additionally, I do think they should probably skip out on non-english speaking events and vtubers because the vast majority of people voting and watching don't know shit about other regions (hell I'm actually shocked Kobo and Kaela won).

That said something almost everyone missed is that Ironmouse wasnt the biggest winner.

Man, the weirdest thing is happening to me. I've been watching clips, but the number of tabs keeps increasing instead of decreasing. I think my computer might be haunted, guys.

I've got three hundred tabs split between three windows. I think it's already too late.

I really need to find some time to just do nothing but binge all of the streams I've been "saving for later." Maybe find a good game that doesn't have too much dialogue, and listen to them in the background.
