Disclaimer: I am also ESL so really, even if some of these clippers have mistakes in the EN subs on the clip, that's not something I care about much. As with my previous post, I didn't follow any strict criteria when selecting who to feature, either. I did follow some broadly general rules tho, rules about clippers I just kinda figured out in over 3 years of watching Vtuber clips and noticing patterns of both good and bad clippers. (yes that's copy paste, I have gotten lazy). Like, those rules really do apply to all kinds of clippers, no matter the language of the talent that gets clipped. - No or little Clickbait Titles (cant do Youtube by fully avoiding them either, so I am more forgiving on that point)
- No cropped Porn Thumbnails
- Clippers who focus on just one or a few Talents usually do it out of passion, not to get rich or fame and put the most care into their Translations as to not misrepresent their Oshi
- They post TL notes in the end of the clip or in the comments, usually a service for people who want to learn JP using their clips
- They take criticism of their translations and correct mistakes in a pinned comment or by doing a re-upload
- Usually, the longer the clip, the more high-effort and more overall care is put into it, so longer = better
Tastes in what good and bad editing in a clip is subjective, but I will probably add some of those clippers that shove 15 meme cuts into a 2-minute clip as well, because that is still effort being made, at the end of the day.
What doesn't work either are clips with no editing at all, so not even EN subs or cuts or anything. That's hella low-effort, and that's not the goal of this list.
