Sio is close to Towa and VSpo's Ichinose Uruha so that's most likely why you remember them. She was formerly Idolbu's Yozakura Tama of .LIVE (Appland). Back then .LIVE was one of the bigger corpos before an incident related to her. She once vented on a livestream about issues regarding her solo live (unarchived afterwards) and not long after both her and Nekonoki Mochi was graduated from Idolbu. There was a huge backlash at Idolbu and their talents (even death threats against other members) and their viewership suffered greatly.
Around this time as well there's a 5ch poster always critical at .LIVE and only supported Tama (implying .LIVE is a black company). This poster has the ID containing either "ec" or "76".
After this around early 2020 Sio debuted and Tama's former fans made the connection (Mahjong player, voice) and made her a reasonably successful indie. Things pretty much went well for her, getting recognition for her mahjong skills and getting a mahjong book deal as well as yostar recognition. I think one of the famous clips was her hand reading skills against Tenkai Tsukasa.
At 5ch though, the poster ec keeps on praising Sio while at times bashed other mahjong Vtubers and Sio's collab partners (except Towa and Nose) while also still hating .LIVE talents (really hates Yaezawa Natori). Some of the posts accused indie Sakino Moco of ghosting/stream sniping in mahjong, insulting Niji's Luis Cammy (won't amount to anything in mahjong) while constantly praising Sio's mahjong skills. Probably sounds like Sio's unicorn until the IP leak.
The IP leak was at Note (Japanese's blog site) and Sio's IP matches with ec. Her antis noticed the connection and that's when the dislike bombing ramped up. She then made an announcement on twitter to pursue legal avenues but never returned as Kusunoki Sio. Around this time her mahjong deals got cancelled everywhere.
Towa and Nose I recall got some backlash from this as those closest to Sio.
She disappeared around August/September 2020 if I remember correctly. If you notice some of the Vtubers you follow changed their behaviour around this time, this might be the case. She had mahjong collabs with Pekora and Shion before the Taiwan yab and played Apex as well with Towa, Nose, and at times Niji's Naraka.

IIRC Kusunoki Sio got alot of shit after some folks found out that her IP address is revealed to be linked to 5chan posts that are pretty bad/anti-like to other vtubers or something like that (allegedly). I don't remember the exact detail or if thats the main reason, but somehow it gotten so bad that you don't really hear any good thing about Sio.

Honestly the reason I even bothered about the detail is because for some reason, much of her existing fanart is practically NSFW/bonk-worthy. When I checked her name to see why, I learned about that 5chan thingie.

Word from /jp/ is that the commissioner for those Sio porn is a dedicated anti. One of the interesting stories was she got found out because her hand tracking was so good around that time. During a mahjong stream her left hand looked like she's typing something and when she finished typing a post from ec appeared on 5ch.

One of the possible reasons Towa and Nose got backlash was a removed member post in Towa's stream where they said they believed in Sio. This was leaked by ec to bolster support but backfired. It's pretty much impossible to confirm this.

Another question is why she didn't enable YT memberships and her reason was the members name have green colour which she hates.

Thanks for the write up. I didn't follow Idol Club too closely during its peak because I was in and out of the scene that time so most of this is new to me. All I knew about her was she was labeled as the Judas of the group by anons ovet at /jp/
