Also on the PC topic, I went to go buy my 870e Taichi mobo and they're ALL sold out now, everybody bought them before Black Friday apparently so there's a shortage. I'm just going to pick up a couple sticks of DDR5 and leave it there for now, I guess things have changed since I did my last build. We don't have a movies/tv-shows thread i don't think, and i don't wanna pollute general, so.
First thing i said to a friend of mine after finishing last episode was that they've firmly moved their definition of plot from "characters commit actions based on their personal histories and motivations" to "things just happen, shut up about it". In S1 even most minor characters had at least satisfactory answers to my favorite Babylon 5 questions of "Who are you?" and "What do you want?", here a lot of the main characters struggle with those. All of it just seemed incredibly rushed and the decision to heavily shift into a musical-lite style doesn't help at all.
Most of Ep9 is straight up a marvel-tier "big action setpiece #567788". Complete with teleportations, time stopping when characters aren't on stream and general incoherence. Oh, and a time-travel plot twist fucking the entire story up, because we clearly needed that.

First thing. Ekko is a timetraveler of course tiem travel was going to be involved even since S1 referenced the Z Drive and reinforced by this scene
that said the characterization It's still there it's just not as consistent as it should be but you are overall right. Jayce wants to stop Viktor so he goes to stop Viktor by all means he has at his disposal Jinx can't decide if she wants to burn bridges or rebuild them so her motivations if a little erratic are understandable Vi is in a similar spot though in her case she wants to be done with it but can't turn her back on "family"
That being said there is absolutely some shotty characterization going around Viktor especially feels ham-fisted into the character we know form league of legends his final form even being a more organic version of the Machine Herald (props on making Organics look machinelike too by the way)
I Can fill in the gaps because i have years of league of legends lore to fall back on and i can see what they were implying this Flesh Hex Core / Anomaly is somewhat explained by the game though in vague uncertain terms
The big thing that bothered me is Heimerdinger just being ok with fucking with time all of a sudden I get the idea (as i said several times) Making up for his mistakes with Jayce and Viktor but thats pretty sudden when you take into account how terrified of magic he is (9000 damage nukes tend to put the fear of veigar into anyone)

All that being said I enjoyed it well enough Chalk some of it up to ending seasons never being "good" to watch and hope to hell that whatever comes next is set in either Shurima or Vastraya

According to multiple news sites, co creator of Arcane said next ones are Noxus, Ionia and Demacia. One of the shows has been in development for around a year. Noxus is the next one I think, as there's a book about Ambessa on the way
I don't mean Ekko, although there are some questions to ep7, it was probably the best of the entire season.
I mean future!Viktor being the person responsible for saving kid-Jayce and his mom in the past, inspiring Jayce to invent Hextech, sending the entire story into a classic "chicken or egg" tumble, not to mention him pontificating about muh 16 million timelines.
Jayce actually suffers the least inconsistency out of the main cast IMO, but he also doesn't gain much. His decision to save Viktor using Hexcore is entirely in-character, so is his horror over discovering Hextech's potential for danger, and then his resolve to stop Viktor from realising it. What does suffer is his dialogue in Act3, the speeches he gives are really rather cliche - not to mention everyone just automatically accepting him back onto the Council after months of disappearance.
The entire storyline of Mel in S2 is garbage. In S1 she's an exceptional supporting character for Jayce's arc, starting off as a devil on his shoulder and slowly changing into an angel as she develops feelings for him and external circumstances make her question her morals.
In S2 she's just...there. She doesn't impact anyone's story, she barely interacts even with Jayce and Ambessa, let alone other characters, spends a third of her screentime in captivity, breaks herself out and spends another third being Golden Magic Jesus. Like, her saving Caitlyn in Ep9 is utterly meaningless, the two have barely interacted across two seasons, they don't have any connection to one-another.
The only logical reason for her story i can think of is that she's gonna be a central character in the upcoming Noxus show(the absolutely-not-subtle Swain raven snatching the hex crystal from Jayce's hammer strongly points to how this story is going to go). Her usefulness to Arcane is neglibigle.
Bleh of course they go for the boring option.
The appeal of Noxus is EVERYWHERE BUT NOXUS seeing their generals in the field the clash of cultures how everything they touch comes back changed.
Going directly to Noxus not only ruins the suspense for seeing what Noxus is actually like but makes their GIANT WAR feel smaller.
