Luli just posted her debut trailer

It's happening on 21 March at 5 PM PST. The snippets from her model look pretty cute and bouncy.

I wish I had found this place earlier as I have been trying to piece together the PixelLink story myself from what I gathered from streams and on X since the closure announcement but always felt like major pieces didn't make sense, speedrunning this thread cleared up so many of my questions and I'm thankful for it.

A quick bit of background: Lottie was my favorite of the group, I had been part of when Pippa raided us into her debut stream and became a member when it first opened. That was longest uninterrupted membership I've ever had lasting all the way until her graduation. One of the first things that puzzled me was that if the company was closing at the end of March why was everyone, especially those not keeping their IPs, in such a rush to graduate in just a week.

In Lottie's announcement stream she seemed so said about not being able to keep her IP and showed us the 2nd outfit she wasn't going to get to wear. Then Raki announced her donothon and Daiya got her surprise help from Zentraya so some of us asked during her final members stream if she was just hesitant to ask the Lads and that we'd like to support a donothon for her. This is when she told us the story that the Lottie character has baggage attached to it as most of the time she's been Lottie her dad was very ill and the character reminds her of that time and she wants a fresh start, so we stopped asking.

But then come after the graduation I figured that she'd debut this new character in a few weeks or months as typical, no she started streaming as Lazuli only two days after Lottie's graduation. I was honestly a bit put off by this as the body wasn't even cold yet and she's acting like we're not even supposed to spend any time in mourning. Now I read in this thread about how she already started on this months ago and it feels like she wasn't honest with her fans in the final week of being Lottie. I'm also wondering how much of Chio and Wisu's sadness in their announcement streams was an act as well if they were already set to leave as soon as the decision over the future of the company was announced.

Probably contractually mandated, I wouldn't take it personally. (Or, if you do, the only answer is to avoid all corpos and only watch indies). She may not be in a position to afford taking a few months off in between.

I haven't watched her so I can't speak from a fan's perspective, but getting "back to work" as soon as possible feels like more of a practical necessity than anything - not just for the immediate need to pay the bills (if she's not streaming then she's not making money), but also because maintaining an audience when there are so many other distractions out there, for a smaller (relatively-speaking) streamer is incredibly difficult. If you break your schedule you see drop-off, which is the main reason why non-compete agreements are such a major factor in agency contracts.

Huge ex-corpos (Nimi etc.) can afford downtime before their re-debut since there's usually a lot of media coverage promoting their comeback, but smaller ex-corpos aren't as fortunate.

Not taking it personally but if it wasn't contractually mandated it makes me reconsider how much I'd want to support them in the future if there was deception going on. Their weird feelings from this is what caused me to go digging past the surface as stuff wasn't adding up in my mind.

So we knew before the graduation that Lottie/Lazuli was needing to get a day job and last year she had moved back in with her parents to help with her sick dad so she does have some income at least and possible no rent, the new job was also the reason her usually streaming time moved a few hours later (which unfortunately puts her into a more congested prime time slot in terms of other VTuber competition, I sometimes need a dartboard to pick a stream sometimes in that time of the evening.) Chio/Rebbie and Wisu/Toffee were not in as much of a rush and seem to be building hype on their social media for now which Rebbie debuting later this week but I'm unclear on what their financial situations were. Maybe it's that I just have graduation/resurrection fatigue right now from this and the V&U drama last week.

I'm glad someone has found use in this forum's extensive documentation. As someone who has spent the last few days grinding their teeth for hours on end due to lack of documentation on certain corpos, it's nice that events cannot be muddied up or outright lost to time if we endeavor to preserve them as they happened.

I think you have your answer right here. Back in December all the girls, except maybe Kanna, panicked and cancelled their streams. None of us knew at the time what had happened, just that something was going on behind the scenes, and even the girls seemed unsure. I think what happened was that the girls were told that Tora-P had fallen ill and that the future of the company was uncertain and likely wouldn't be decided until January or February. Now factor in Lottie's specific situation, she had moved back in with her parents to help take care of her father who had also fallen ill. If her father was so sick that she needed to move back in then he was also too sick to make money to support himself, so Lottie may have been thrust into position of family bread winner (I don't know how old she is or if her parents were still working so I admit this is just speculation on my part). So she has to care for a sick parent, possibly provide for her family, and her job security has just been called into question. Knowing all this it makes sense why she panicked, immediately made a new character, and applied for a second job. She likely wasn't sure if she would have the opportunity to keep her character and just wanted to make sure that she wouldn't lose her source of income. I am also disappointed that she won't be continuing as Lottie but I don't think she was being dishonest about the circumstances behind her decision, just that in addition to the baggage of what was going on behind the scenes she also had made a sudden decision in order to make sure that her and her loved ones were taken care of. I hope this helps.

You can have a contingency plan and still be actually sad that you have to enact it. At least i never got the impression that she's lying about her being sad.

True, I probably over thought it but at least this helped clear out the intrusive thoughts that were recently plaguing me. Though now due what I learned earlier in this thread going to have to give Ganby and JoeyPants the side eye now every time I see their names pop up.

I suppose this is also why the the departing V&U girls are currently double-dipping, I see that Suri's PL is in another collab stream today, probably trying to get her PL monetized before her graduation.

Yay the server is restored and I exist again!

Toffee (formerly Wisu) is feeling less sick and had a yapping stream today. I like this design really, it has a cute 80's aerobic instructor vibe to it.

I'm sure it was totally an accident that she mooned us while petting her dog.

Interestingly PixelLink's official account is advertising the debut streams of Lazuli (formerly Lottie) and Rebbie (formerly Chio).

Furi confirmed in her latest stream that Pixel was going to have an "Invaders" Gen for Gen 3 (PixelRevival) - and she was going to be one of them. 2:55:00 onwards if the timestamp doesn't work:

Apparently, the other girls had already signed on but she couldn't because of the whole IP issue with VReverie. Apparently, Pixel was directly negotiating with VReverie for her IP while that situation was ongoing but VReverie ghosted them. Pixel gave them a whole pitch for the gen, with 2.0 models, promo materials, basically the entire debut package, plus content ideas for a whole year after debut.

Furi also confirmed Tora's health issues but without elaborating further (she double-checked to see what was public in the announcement). She also said that she didn't really know anything about the IP situation of the other Pixel girls.

She withheld saying anything about the "Invaders" gen until Chiaki got a proper send-off and Raki completed her IP donothon. As to who the other girls in PixelRevival were, she couldn't say, so it's a matter of speculation at this point.
Hope the other invaders didn't get fucked over by signing on before it all fell apart.:shiinasadbee:
Furi eventually signed when she got out of VRev purgatory, and she's still here, so I suppose the other girls are fine. I've seen some speculation on /vt/ that at least one of the girls is Puri (formerly Momoko of NEXAS)

Increasingly sad hearing about yet another thing we missed out on in this timeline. Also who in her chat was being so damn negative about PixelStart?

A final farewell from Pixel's mane-san:

A
Hi everyone, it’s me again. Probably for the last time too (the “dead vtuber agency jumpscare” joke only works once), so we’re using our indoor voice for this one. No big news here, nothing funny, just a heartfelt final letter and some closing thoughts to any who might want to hear them. Feel free to scroll past this one if you’re not looking for that. Otherwise, what lies beyond will be a messy ride of thoughts and feelings but I hope you’ll bear with me.

It’s been some time since we announced our closure and even now approaching 2 months since our official closure date. It’s something I still struggle to come to terms with, not just from the emotional toll but also from how busy we have been nonetheless behind the scenes since then. It was only after Chiaki’s 2.0 debut that I could stop for a moment and let the reality sink in. I thought it was sad that PixelLink never said goodbye, when I realized the only way that would happen is if I was the one to say it. So, here we are.

For all intents and purposes, PixelLink as a business entity really did come to a stop on March 30th. After the announcement, I was told my last paycheck would be in February, thereafter I would be relieved of my responsibilities, and I was thanked for all I’ve done.

I could rattle off a list of my duties I had under my position but I found it easiest to summarize them all under a single, simple directive: “Enable the creative initiatives of the talents and ensure the success of their projects.” It is a feeling that I’ve always carried in my heart and has not wavered even today. Through the whole year, there has been so much to do for concluding matters and seeing to a smooth transition for all of our former members, and yet feels so much more left to be done, to ensure they get the proper recognition in their new forms. To be perfectly honest I am still not ready to let go, but if I keep holding on for “one more thing” then I don’t think PixelLink (perhaps even more myself) will ever get the proper closure it deserves, and it should be allowed its dignity.

To all our former talents, thank you for placing your trust in us, and I’m sorry we could not carry you further. You made PixelLink what it is and I think in our short run we still achieved some incredible things. I’m so proud of you all for what you’ve accomplished and continue to strive for with a smile on your face even as you venture into uncertainty. Do not let the unknown deter you, because the determination I know you carry in your hearts means you will reach your goal no matter which path you take so long as you keep walking forward.

To my staff colleagues, you were so much more to me than co-workers. I feel blessed to work with so many equally passionate and driven individuals, united not only on making a professional company but to truly push for positive change in the industry. Even “real world” companies would be envious of our little team. Is it lame to think of you all (yeah even you Tora) as my little extended family? Alright, call me lame then.

To Kawa, thank you for being a good partner to us. You went above and beyond in inheriting our prior merchandise woes and untangling that mess while simultaneously handling all our new orders, and now most recently transitioning their merch projects smoothly to each of our members as indies. I’ll gladly vouch for you being ‘Talents First’ minded and offering solutions over restrictions.

And finally to all in our community, to everyone who made clips, videos, memes; to our fan project coordinators and channel moderators, our super fans and casual fans alike, even you weekend warriors and lurkers and next-day VOD watchers - I could never fully express my gratitude to you. Just as much, you also made us what we are. You have a choice every day on how you spend your precious free time and for you to choose us always meant the world. I have no doubts in my mind that some of you share the same passion that I do, and while our roles differ from who cheers in front of the stage vs. who works from behind it, your contributions are arguably even more important. Thank you for showing up every time you do, cheering on our talents and being a part of their VTuber journey, making the experience as fulfilling as it can be.

If you’re still here reading this then thank you for sticking with me this far. Perhaps you’ll allow me to make one more selfish request: Please continue to watch and support all the girls. Not just for the bragging rights to say you watched each of these little legends before they made it big, but also because you’d be doing yourself a big favor. If you’re anything like me then all their joy and passion and positivity will surely fill your heart and help you heal like they did for myself.

This will 99% be the last time you see a written post from me, but I think I’ll hold onto this account for a little longer to quietly RT signal boost some big things coming soon from our former members. I regret that we couldn’t make PixelLink the greatest to ever be, but just maybe I hope we made PixelLink the greatest that ever was. Thank you all for being a part of it.
