"What's a star trek? Star Trek? Isn't that the name of a movie? What's 'A Star Trek?' It's a TV show?! I thought it was a movie! I know it's popular, I know it's famous... is it in the stars? I always get Star Wars and Star Trek mixed up, kind of like the name. Star Wars, Star Trek and 'Stargate', what's Stargate?"Hakos Baelz

April is just around the corner, and I'd like to use this time to remind users to donate in support of the site. I am looking into purchasing more add-ons to streamline and enhance user experience, and I am also going to hire another VPS for additional backup space and other important purposes in April.
In addition: I am looking for users who would be interested in becoming Orderlies for the new vtuber threads. Responsibilities would include highlighting and properly collating information in each thread, and also maintaining the announcement widgets for each thread. Knowledge of basic HTML and CSS (very easily learned) essential. DM me your interest.
Finally, I'm looking for anyone with intermediate to advanced HTML/CSS/PHP knowledge to continue work on the forum styles. I am willing to pay for this service, but if I do, I expect commitment and results within a reasonable timeframe. DM me any offers. Thank you.
People literally predicted this from the start, from when Aviel was said to be a grifter who only cares about making money. And now there's morons who are suprised about it?
My memory could be wrong on some parts but the older crowd here dislikes Brave/Unlimited because
>they had one of the most popular VTuber groups in early Vtuber history, Game Club Project (or Gamebu)
>rumors fly around the people behind the characters being mistreated
>someone from the inside leaks about Brave Group's black company dealings
>Brave Group catches wind of this, makes an "apology" but behind the scenes slowly replaces the actors
>people ask why the characters they love are suddenly sounding and acting different
>Brave Group basically says "You don't care about the actors, you care about the characters. We can replace actors any time to play the characters we want them to."
That and more Vtubers under Brave Group who have been replaced over time (e.g Cocoa Daimyoji of today is not the original from Gamebu)
basically all the shit that people said about Hololive's idol culture "being a cancer to Vtubing" has already happened with Brave/Unlimited

I realise you're probably not at liberty to share any of this, but I can't emphasise just how much I'd love to see or hear people in the industry's unfiltered opinions on Aviel. Needing to be professional while putting up with such a slimy cunt, and having to accept that public opinion is mostly in said slimy cunt's favour, is the perfect recipe for long-term resentment.

not a lot of people (i.e. newfags) would know about this because it was largely localized in Japan and happened way before the VTuber boom
I honestly forgave them for that, I dislike brave because their buying everything under the sun strategy is really fucking bad for the industry and if they succeed it will fuck up something I love big time. Monopolies are never good, and when these companies amass so much power and assets they just become unbeatable and the entire industry shifts from trying to do anything that will let you climb up to their level to just throwing shit at the wall until something gets popular and then instantly selling.
Companies which coast off of the stuff they buy instead of actually producing value are the worst kinds of companies, they are honestly just leeches on an industry which produce nothing and just amass wealth until their leadership rots the entire thing out and it all implodes in a putrid cloud of dead passion projects and creativity.
Think EA, Alphabet (google), or Meta. Overall fucking terrible business practice that needs to be stopped before it gets too big to sink.

To be fair, SME and their 100 VTuber project did that a while back but they failed miserably.
Just one bad acquisition and it's all downhill from here.
But yeah, monopolies suck - only a matter of time when Brave Group buys out Hololive or something.
At least we did get a few good games out of Embracer's BS. Darksiders 4 was ok DE Blob 2 was pretty good Destroy all Humans 1&2 remasters wait that was all THQ Nordic opps.

because no one was sure HOW badly he was into being a jew. Most of us reasonably assumed he was in it for the long haul due to how much spending he was doing.

Care to explain why you two are so certain yagoo would sell hololive to brave?
I personally don't. I don't think they will be able to afford nijisanji either.
There is no way hololive (and nijisanji) has never gotten acquisition offers from mega corpos. Both of them turned it down for different reasons. While yagoo treats hololive as his family, riku is probably biding his time for the biggest purchase possible. He think he can still sell it for more.
If either of these company do sell. I don't think brave has the money to purchase them. What they ask for is gonna be so high the investor themselves would just do the direct purchase. Something along the line of 10 billion freedom unit.
Best case scenario, vspo+ all their acquisitions incline and they became the third biggest corpo
Worst (and my belief) case scenario, they crashed and burn like embracer, half of their acquisition goes indie, another half quit vtubing.
It doesn't have to be Yagoo.
Yagoo is going to let go of Cover Corp sooner or later, most likely sooner because of his age and his current medical issues.
The next CEO will then sell off to Brave seeing as how even though we already are in the year 5 since the Vtubing boom, people are still waiting for the bubble to burst.

Sorry for double posting but I believe this needed a new post.
I would like to issue a formal apolology to Mr. Riverbear and Mr. Nenelove as well as anyone who believe in Brave group
Upon further re-investigation of the Brave website. I have now come across conclusive evidence that Brave is a promising company that is very invested into the vtubing world and is no way ran by incompetent leadership and that they are clearly here to stay rather than some random grifting project that just chase the biggest trend while having no idea what they are doing.
And here is the conclusive evidence:
Noone, absolutely noone who runs such a pretigious project could be a grifting company.
