Nerfing Marine? Absolutely unacceptable, I will now harass him for months as revenge.Kay just nerfed greed and marine btw, some people already having meltdowns because the game can't be completely trivialized and you have to actually play it more than 3 times. THE HORROR!
The excuse is that some of the joke items in the casino cost gorillions, except that they're... joke items, that don't do anything and their descriptions literally say SCAM. I fear for the collective IQ of mankind. Kinda reminds me of the bitching when relogic nerfed the broken items that let people essentially bypass a third of terraria, fun times.
"I love this game! But I hate playing it." Will never make sense to me.
yeah if it's been a hot minute then theres lots to overwhelm.Nerfing Marine? Absolutely unacceptable, I will now harass him for months as revenge.
I actually haven't played the game in forever, most of my playtime was before it was ever even on steam and that save got lost cause I forgot to back it up but holy shit there's so much fucking content in the game now it's almost overwhelming. Like double the amount of playable characters and HoloHouse didn't even exist at the time.
Even with F2P gacha games my luck is fucking cursed. I think I unlocked outfits for everyone else in Gen 3 before even getting base Marine...
Apparently, A-Life is broken and is in the game, but has a really short cutoff distance or something. Unsurprisingly, the game is broken on release. So uh, STALKER 2 review after playing about two hours of a pirated copy out of pure grim fascination.
Short form: Sergei Grigorovich, you've fucked it again.
Long form: Jesus Christ weeping in Heaven this is literally just a Chernobyl skin over a nu Far Cry game. There's no A-life, there's no soul, the PC port is horrific both performance and controls wise, the game has worse general gun animation than most CoP mods from 2014, fucking hitmarkers, enemy detection cones, bloodsuckers that can yell at you to stun you, and knock you down for two seconds if they hit you, bandits that make Clear Sky grenade spam look tame, you can't throw a bolt without a tutorial NPC telling you how to, artifacts don't spawn unless you're holding a detector out, NPCs that manifest out of thin air behind you because A-LIFE DOESN'T FUCKING EXIST, the poltergeist has a damage aura that nearly kills you if he bumps into you, constant tardproofed tutorial popups, while the game has you fight a fucking bloodsucker and poltergeist as your first two enemies without giving you a shotgun. Genuine fucking trash, my expectations were at about landfill/10, GSC's team imploded and spread out all over Russia and Ukraine after CoP was made, but this shit is at Ganges river/10, it is unironically the worst it's ever been.
Anyways, 10/10 slava ukraini, there isn't a political officer waiting to execute me if I give it a 9/10 behind me.
I don't buy that at all. You can reload a save next to a group of NPCs that aren't pre-placed, and they'll either be different NPCs every time, or just not spawn on some reloads. That's not buggily simulating groups, that's just a random encounter spawner.Apparently, A-Life is broken and is in the game, but has a really short cutoff distance or something. They released the game either knowing it didn't work at all, wasn't implemented at all, or is in there but still needed a ton of work. The random spawning on top of you was apparently to alleviate the lack of a functioning AI system, though.I don't buy that at all. Or, the evil option, A-life 2.0 is actually just a random spawning system by intention, like they stated in this interview.

because everyone saw how well FC3 did and went I WANT THAT and now we get to suffer through shittily made open worlds and towers that magically reveal the map for you (ok that was AC's fault but still) FC4 arguably being just as popular or even more so and even today being worth talking about just cemented the trend.I'm just sitting here wondering how every open world game became Far Cry 3.
Like sure I like some of them. Hell I like Far Cry 3 - 5 a great deal as well as Phantom Pain. But come on that formula got tapped out with BOTW.
I feel like the later games are very normie-coded (which is probably why they sold so well compared to 1 and 2) - they have some aspects that I like but they're not that memorable for me, outside of the outpost mechanics and some of the voice acting. Blood Dragon was legit great though and doesn't overstay its welcome. Not sure why Far Cry 3 gets such a good rep. I got halfway through before getting bored.
Had a lot of the same problems as Far Cry 2, just more polished, but less interesting aspects.
