Did Genshin add the ability to skip cutscenes yet? I'm really enjoying WuWa because I can play the game and just skip all of the xiangbongdongfeng the third, chosen of the sun and the communist party, son of heaven and earth wank.

And also because the gameplay is generally just better, and it's not one of the jewiest gacha games out there.

I have no interest in Genshin or Wuwa or hoyo or any of their fans or any of this mess, but I commend that write up @John Vtuber👁️ and it being well written enough to keep me reading to the end.

Hope you branch out to good games soon!!

Switch Axe and Bow trailers went live.

SWAxe is looking pretty decent, it's a weapon I like to play as a secondary sometimes and the additions seem solid. More ways to get into discharge attacks and they've kept some form of counter attack or parry.
Bow got a lot of new tech. More mobility in an adept evade and aerial jumping attacks, with lots of ways to exploit weakspots with the ability to make all your attacks homing on specific points. Also some sort of mass-focus point attack that might have a wyrmstake cannon finisher effect? Someone at Capcom really likes the weapon, clearly.

Petition for mods to move the genshin stuff off from here, the "vidya games" thread, as that pertains to basically casino, addiction and gambling money away.

No, but everyone under the sun is getting playtest access.
I gave him playtest access btw. Really easy to get access if you just add someone on steam who is already invited as inviting others is literally like 3 buttons to click and you can invite your whole steam friendslist.

The game's still in an alpha (as said by Valve developer "Yoshi" (real Yoshi Mario Bros????) from their discord) so a lot of shit is happening with the game. They release a balance patch like every week it seems. Last week they released a new character. (Heard he and another dude who looks like a shark have been datamined in the gamefiles for a while). Plays kinda like Axe from Dota 2, has the same red skin as him, has a big pompadour for a haircut and also a robotic arm.

The big questions I have are:

1) Does it play as dull and uninspired as it looks?
2) Any signs of pozzed?

I love dumb drama in games and this is one of the dumber ones. Apparently in KR the hand signal was an ultra feminist symbol and some KR men are offended.

I was so confused for a sec, but I remember this. It apparently means small penis and any small dick jokes is a feminist thing. Something similar happened to Ayamy early this year
Tangent related, Korean netizens got ass-mad at Ayamy, Hololive Mel's mom, for doing a stream celebrating 69k subscribers. That stream was like last year too. From what I understand is in Korea 69 refers to 6.9cm aka small dick so people thought she was making fun of guys instead of understanding that most of world understands it as a sex position. Anyways, Ayamy speaks Korean for the stream and that's :MozumiPichi:

"Be gay do crimes"

The monkeypox epidemic showed us what sort of crimes they decided to do.

View attachment 76099
I'm going to pull something verbatim from this CDC article:

The infant had no history of travel, no history of acute infections in the 3 weeks preceding rash onset, no known immunocompromising conditions, did not attend a child care facility, and had no caregivers outside the home. Within the home, the infant was cared for by four caregivers. Caregiver A acted as the main guardian throughout the infant’s hospital stay and had prolonged exposure with skin-to-skin contact. Caregiver B reported activities that placed him at high risk for monkeypox exposure during the 2 months preceding the infant’s illness (2). Caregiver B reported hematuria and fever, followed by a rash within the 3 weeks before the infant’s symptom onset. One day before the infant became symptomatic, caregiver B moved to another state and sought medical care for his symptoms. He received a positive Orthopoxvirus DNA test result 2 days after the infant’s positive test result, after which, he was lost to follow-up. The infant had daily close contact with caregiver B in the home for 6 weeks before rash onset. Possible routes of transmission included shared bed linens and skin-to-skin contact through holding and daily care activities.

Everybody stand back I'm going to FEDPOST

Finished Pikmin 4 the other day, and it's a mixed bag. On the one hand, the game is beautiful, the new enemies are pretty great when we actually get them (disco ball spider my beloved), and a lot of the new QoL stuff is legitimately great. Night expeditions are also a really good idea, even though they weren't executed well IMO. On the other hand, as a long-time Pikmin player, there are some REALLY glaring problems with 4.

Actual literal baby difficulty in 4 is the first, most glaring issue: 2 is legitimately a bit too brutal at times, but the difficulty is mitigated somewhat by the fact that even a full 100 pikmin wipe doesn't actually DO anything to set you back and it's legitimately rewarding to reason your way through a particularly difficult fight or puzzle. In 4, the answer to 99% of your problems is an Oatchi charge. It obliterates practically everything in the game, even unupgraded. The autolock is frustrating against multiple targets and trivializes one on one encounters, especially against small enemies like Bulborbs. The non-respawning overworld enemies make the world feel dead and empty after your first pass through. And the fact that your pikmin selection is artificially restricted is just dumb.

I really want a Pikmin game that somehow fuses the good things about all of the games together. Give me that Pikmin 4 art design, Pikmin 2's AI and enemy density/randomization, 3's soft time limit from having to forage food, and 1's non-linear layout. Weaken charges, or at least make them incredibly high-risk to perform: If I direct 20 blue Pikmin to charge a Bulborb, he should just insta-react and eat the whole lot. Also I wanted Oatchi to be a Bulbmin.....

1) I mean, The game is still in alpha and subject to change. I don't really have an answer to that. They changed the map a bit compared to the leaks and last week they've added more ways to move around vertically. Another gripe with the game so far is that despite being more of a moba, I haven't really seen too much variance from just dudes with guns and 4 skills to use. I haven't really seen a melee-only character yet. (There is a button to melee people but it's more of a "get the fuck off me" tool than a real melee).
2) Other than the Deadlock discord mod team. Not really? Again, the game is in alpha and they haven't really done much with the characters yet (Voice Acting is pretty minimal, barely any fluff character lore like Dota) outside of their designs, which is also subject to change. Considering Valve's history with changing character designs in Dota (Silencer turned purple, Skeleton King > Wraith King, Venomancer being a royalty-free hydralisk > he is now a big snake etc)
The autolock is frustrating against multiple targets and trivializes one on one encounters, especially against small enemies like Bulborbs. The non-respawning overworld enemies make the world feel dead and empty after your first pass through. And the fact that your pikmin selection is artificially restricted is just dumb.
The constant autolock in Pikmin 4 is honestly one of the biggest criticisms I've had and have heard about. Even casual gamers dislike it for the most part because it can be more harmful than helpful. This is ESPECIALLY true in the challenge cave in the hub area where you're meant to kill ~90 bulborb larvae in under like 30 seconds with 5 purple pikmin iirc. Without the auto-lock-on it'd be a breeze because you can throw purples all over and have their stun radius kill them all. But the auto-lock-on causes the purples to home in on the larvae and it makes the whole thing ass to fight through.
The only reason they have auto-lock instead of pushing a button for it? The devs went way too hard in the "QoL features" (for the casuals guys!) to the point where they're significantly hampering the gameplay.

I agree with the enemies not respawning either. I miss Pikmin 2 where the enemies would gradually rotate out with the more time you took. Going from "oh there's a few bulbears here in the perplexing pool" to "holy shit there's a Bulbear roaming towards my base!" and "WHY IS BEADY LONG LEGS RIGHT OUTSIDE MY BASE!" was always a nice surprise, but required way too long to actual see if you're not taking a scenic route the whole game. It'd've been cool if 4 had something like; If you kill off the bulborb population, a new more tough and invasive set of enemies appear.

As for the actual character designs, there's a darkie and an offensively 5headed Japanese yokai-thing, but there's no intentionally ugly pandering characters.

Is it a cool darkie or a sexy darkie?
