Meet your match is a shit update yes but it's not the problem that needed fixing... but the game still functions fine even with the worse system.

The MYM queue system caused the bot problem. TF2 has been in a coma until Valve actually got up and did something about the bots. Now people are actually able to play the game and are realizing that the game is fundamentality flawed in it's current state.
Playing on community servers isn't a permanent fix either. Hell, it wasn't one back when the bots were around because MYM killed a majority of community servers that weren't named Skial.

Saying the game "functions fine" is massive cope, honestly. I want the best for the game especially if Valve isn't going to bother with content updates anymore.

I think this video does a good job explaining how devastatingly bad the new queue system affected TF2. It's not just bad wait times. It's a whole shit show that fucked up fundamental parts of the game.
