Seeing as I keep seeing it everywhere, fine, I'll try Marvel Rivals.

I tried playing some old singleplayer FPS game that I got in the mood for recently, and you unironically have to take time to regress back into using a controller when you go from a mouse and keyboard for FPS.

Console aiming requires a lot of development by the developers to get right. There always has to be aim assist, but you have to find the sweet spot so it's not too much. Halo still holds up in that department.

The video is straight up one of the best Annoucements/Ads for a game in ages.

Doesn't matter how much they delay it when they really should have made this game ten years ago and without trying to tell people that the black baggage handler was actually a samurai.

They were so dumb for not going to Japan after Unity. I think they kept Japan in the back pocket for whenever the series ran out of steam. The problem is Sucker Punch got there first. Now they're honorary guests in Tsushima and Ubisoft reached the level of International Incident by insulting the Japanese.

I wonder if they dropped the Samurai game 10 years ago with Yasuke being a major side character ala Leonardo it wouldnt have been as mocked as now

Yasuke has cropped up in a good chunk of Media in the last several decades. And it's not like there weren't stylized ideas of the concept. Afro Samurai, as a Manga, ran from 1998 to 2002. He'd have been a side quest character that probably caused led you to Mitsuhide and set off the Honno-ji Incident. Which actually could have made sense in, well, the weird way games work.

Ten years ago, there were signs of woke ideology about (although it took different names like affirmative action and representation and the like) but people weren't so worried about it in video games because games in general were still pretty good. Yasuke being a major character (not the player character) would have been a bit weird since historically he was a nobody but it would have been a very minor discussion point and overall I think most people would have been pretty happy to play as a male or female Japanese samurai in an AC game.

Weirdly, Yasuke being there wouldn't have been too odd for an AC game, considering he came with the Jesuits. It's pretty easy to rope that into the primary storyline. Though it would have set a chunk of the game in Nagasaki. Though odds are they'd have had to tracking down one of the lost Imperial Regalia in the water off the coast in that area.

I personally wish we could get more villains/Anti-heroes on the roster. Give me the Brotherhood. Give me the Sinister Six. Fuck, give me Baron Zemo and the Red Skull you fucking cowards.

Honestly I agree if only because it feels wrong to have to Fantastic 4 and no Doom.

And Jeff The Land Shark and Luna Snow aren't? I mean maybe they aren't but i sure didn't know about either until i played this game.

Jeff is huge and is stupid popular but has no reach outside of the one comic focused on. Because Gwenpool is in limbo and so is Kate Bishop the two characters who deal with jeff most often.

Luna is still the breakout of the pretty dead Agents Of Atlas team (rivals ironfist is her teammate actually who used to be called Swordmaster) which for some impossible reason marvel keeps trying to revive despite no one caring about a team of Chinese Asian Korean etc heroes ultimately lead by an American even idiots can smell the bait.

Which is a shame because otherwise the team is solid though i think whitefox is the most interesting of the bunch Punisher but for demon yokai spirits.

On the topic of no villians. I suspect they want to drip feed them since they are usually huge draws compared to heroes.

We all want Doom I suspect Osborn/Goblin will be huge Doc Oc (give me that NOW) ... Honestly all of Spiderman's Villain's so yes please give us the sinister six
Shocker Vulture Sandman Rhino Octavius Gobby and Kraven. then make jokes about how none of them can count. Clea Strange would be great CARNAGE (fuck null) hell maybe Lasher Agony Phage and Riot. I would suggest Arnim Zola over Zemo or Redskull but all 3 could work MODOK odiously Taskmaster.

Isn't Doom the mastermind behind the whole "plot" of the game? Would be kinda weird for him to run around as one of the characters when literally everyone talks about wanting to kick his ass.

Depends on the size and scale of the villain in question - and, unfortunately, their presence in the MCU and their status there.
Thanos, for example, would very obviously be hyped to oblivion, but MODOK, after the last Ant Man movie? Uhhh.
(i just imagined them trying to make a skin out of that monstrousity and changed my mind, please add MODOK into the game)


First impressions of Reed: pretty fun, definitely low DPS overall, but a pretty strong bruiser, excellent chaser, two to-target dash charges with low cd make it extremely hard for a solo target to shake him off. Ulti's kinda weak, but it's in a place where buffing it would very, very easily make it overbearing.
