This was a thread I saw on the Rivals subreddit, but I think it's a good example of something that's talked about often. And that's the important difference between style vs realism. Tell me which you like better?

It's almost like comicbook characters look better with stylistic design over realistic proportions, espeically when the realistic proportions make them look like Halloween costumes. There's a reason why people enjoy the Bruce Timm designs despite the characters looking like they have pencil legs, even the speedster character.

My only gripe with the MR designs is I think they should have had "classic" skins to go with them from the get-go. Some of them do, but having a classic Warlock, Strange, etc. would go a long way.


Also, they should have just removed the sleeves from the Deadpool & Wolverine Wolverine and called it a day lol

wanna know something infuriating the good purple magneto costume is hidden from view and can only be obtained via twitch drop aka removing the stupid pointy hat and making him look proper.

as for other classic costumes I suspect they are done and ready to go but they want to stagger the release between classic and new Psyloke got her Betsy Braddock costume so i expect Swordmaster to get a proper Danny Rand skin at some point but i also noticeed that stupid Chasm spiderman skin along with Cap's base skin being based on the "Future Avengers"

Give us Scarlet Spider Jake Gallows (the real punisher 2099) and honestly Scientist Supreme Stark (Sorcerer Supreme Iron Man) and ill be happy

also when thee game is finally dying and you stop caring about character clarity give Peni a Cyborg Rocket Racoon skin so the trash panda can get his stompy mech back

Marvelslop update: i'm struggling to choose between which melee DPS to select in a small "roster of heroes i wanna get gud with". Panther is out of the running because: see previous episode of marvelslop updates, spiderman i really don't wanna touch, and Magik/IronFist/Wolverine are all equally fun for different reasons.

If your struggling with the spider turn off auto swing or whatever the option is.

if you played the spiderman games it's almost 1 to 1 the only difference is you can guide the swing with the camera.

as for the rest. Ironfist is ez mode 90% of the time because people dunno to disengage him. Magik slaughters teams when darkchild is up and wolverine has a lot of downtime either building rage or looking for someone to pick off not a fan even when people "learned" to play him

Wolverine's gameplay loop seems to be extremely one-note and with major pauses between actually playing the game.

Yeah she is she would be even better if they fix that bug where the thing locks on only if you aim to the side. Easily my favorite of the options.

Jesus, Squeenix's avengers' only decent designs are Spiderman because its just a high def spiderman design, and black widow because she is boring but atleast the colors look fine.
Everything else looks like shitty cosplay, default Hawkeye looks like a random goon

Marvelslop update:
The only DPS Thor can't solo, like, at all, appears to be Psylocke. She's too fucking mobile and can dodge out of Thor's dashes way too fucking consistently.

I'm not sure whether i'm doing shit right or wrong on Strange and Magneto. Like, i'm doing shit, and we're either winning or losing, but i never feel like i'm actually...a part of those wins or losses? Not even when i get max-block awards.

...I miss TF2. Medic was unimaginably OP by definition, being the only stable healer in the game, but he had barely any counter-play or self-recovery against the DPS classes, so you *had* to play with your team. Here? A healer that doesn't have self-heal has hard disable, a healer that doesn't have a hard disable has an escape, a healer that doesn't have an escape has a self-heal.

Slowly following the competitive meta, quickplay starts to have more and more 2-heal lineups, which actually makes me worry about repeat of OW situation, only with heals instead of shields, where the overall damage dealt is too low, dives are worthless, and everyone just miserably pokes at each other until their ults are ready to go.

Thankfully there's counters to that by instagibbing them or having Groot wall off their tanks to block heals because they don't have enough DPS to break them.
