New leak of the Switch 2 Joycons out of China.
k18svr.jpg

The REAL interesting bit though is this small segment of the Joycons.

People speculated what this was until this other report came out.

Looks like the Switch will be taking inspiration from the Lenovo Legion Go, which was the portable PC that had Joycons like removable controllers too.

As usual, it will be up to the software to show whether it will be worth a damn. Given how bad Nintendo is with their console OSes, I am not optimistic. Also, them still using the terrible form factor of the joycons from the Switch is pretty disappointing.

I beat Miside this evening. I understand the Cappie hype but I think I like Mila and Sleepy Mita more. Even Creepy Mita is cute in a girlfailure kind of way.

Good way to start the year in gaming (even though it came out a few weeks ago).

Edit: MIGUEL MOD DROPPED (just VA for now)

Fantastic, another piece of hardware that can fail but it won't matter to nintendo fans who'll gladly uppay for replacements.

It's just a vn with extra steps no? It looks very polished and the devs really put a lot of care into the animations which gets a huge :kaelaapprob: from me but man, the state of gaming is such a joke that people hail this as the second coming of gaming.

Despite looking like the world's shittiest mouse I think this could have potential. Maybe if they ship out a Mario Maker 3 or something it could work out? One of my gripes with Mario Maker 2 was that handheld mode was IMO better to make levels in than docked. So anytime I wanted to actually make things I had to undock my Switch, put it on a stand, and hook it back up to the charger. Along with buying a 3rd party capacitive stylus.

If the hall-effect sticks rumor is true I don't see too many instances of people up-paying for replacements in the near future. It'll be real shitty if the pro-controllers don't use hall-effect, but in my experience I've only ever had to replace my 1 procon 1 time a year ago. The main issue leading to that being that the stick would "flicker" inputs going up on the stick (it would register I am holding up but occasionally would reset back to neutral position for a few split-seconds).

At the very worst it's going to be a feature similar to the IR thing on the og Joycon, something that is only ever a gimmick but can easily be ignored and will be ignored by most games. Also, I don't think it breaking is a huge concern, since I think optical mouse sensors don't really break or even degrade very frequently.

How the fuck did they move backwards and not include a stylus with a slot to hold it? Did they just not want money from selling overpriced replacements when people lose theirs?

Playing Mario Maker 2 was what really made me realized they fucked up with the Switch's design.

Barely any Switch games can even use the touchscreen. The fact that even turn based games like Fire Emblem or Pokemon don't make use of it is pathetic. It is bizarre how inept Nintendo is sometimes.

It's Nintendo, they're the kings of going 2 steps forward and 1 step back. Any major innovations they make are always evened out by some absolutely inexplicable decision.

The majority of the touch screen stuff I've done on the Switch had basically come from Indie games. And even then, it's been few and far between in retrospect.

Just making me feel nostalgic for when I was a kid playing Mario Paint for the SNES with that mouse they had. Good times. The flyswatter mini game was fun. The music maker was also fun. Hell, the music in general was good.

Using a Joycon as a mouse looks awkward.

It is entirely possible that we will know everything about the Switch 2 except for the games until Nintendo decides to drop the announcement within the next few months.

I want to play Pokemon Legends Z-A at an acceptable framerate, so I'm the obvious mark for a pre-order. inb4 the framerate is somehow worse on the Switch 2 version of the game.

Pokemon Re/Tro, back to pixels, sprites and a black & white screen on the Switch 2. Four sound channels.

It still drops to 12 fps every now and then.

For immersion.

why is not using the touch screen make Nintendo inept? it's a gimmick that is fun to play with and has some use in drawing programs or miiverse it being not forced into every game like they did with the wii/wii u is thm actually learning but nintendo hate over everything else i guess?

games that i use the touchscreen on.

Slay the Spire Ace Attorney/GAA Ghost Trick Scribblenauts Edit: aiming thee bow in Zelda

You are right about the lack of games but also consider they have to take into account people do play games docked while having the option is nice the switch's main gimmick was always elsewhere why would they demand more games use it?

Well while we know Pokemon ZA and Metroid 4 are both Switch 1 launches, it's basically a given that Mario Kart and a 3D Mario platformer are on the docket. Those 2 are system sellers and those are long overdue releases. Meanwhile they've blown their load on Zelda with that shitty Gmod sequel. Aside from those flagships, there's still the potential of Luigi's Mansion 4 and Mario Maker 3. Another Animal Crossing is likely but that's probably a year 2 or year 3 release.

Honestly think they're making a huge fumble if they release Metroid 4 without doing Metroid 2+3 like Pikmin or their own individual remasters as those are 21 and 18 year old games from the Gamecube and Wii era.

Also trailer for Season 1 of Marvel Rivals. Show's basically nothing but character designs for the Fantastic 4, also includes Dracula's designs.

So the lack of an option to use touchscreen is because you can dock it? That's a retarded excuse. The 3DS fire emblem games and pokemon games let you use both the touch screens and buttons to control the games. It has nothing to do with being able to dock the console or what is or isn't a gimmick to lose options like that. Nintendo is just retarded.

Highlights
  • Season 1 is 3 months long, split into two 6 week halves
  • Mr Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist) released start of the first half, with Human Torch (presumed duelist) and The Thing (presumed vanguard) added in the second half.
  • 3 new maps based in New York, split release as well
  • Season pass vampire/monster themed. 10 costumes, and enough currency provided to pay for next battle pass.
    jutekl.png
  • Balance adjustments: Nerfs to Hela and Hawkeye, buffs to Cap, Venom, Cloak and Dagger, Wolverine, and Storm. Bug fix/adjustment to Jeff's ultimate and the visual disparity
  • They will be publicly posting pick and win rates broken up by game mode and rank each half season

Overall, looking good. The last point especially is interesting. Is there any other competitive game that releases their own numbers vs a 3rd party site?

The general concensus is his survivability and damage are pretty much fine (maybe small tweaks) but the cool downs on his abilities are WAY too long. Considering Hulk's super jump doesn't have a cool down, it's crazy Cap's running leap (and shield throw) have a 12 second CD each.
