I recall a post by some Gen Y guy about how some Gen Zs at his office needed some documents, so he zipped them up and sent it to them. They told him the file was corrupted. So, he zipped them up again and sent it. Same result. He goes over to them to see if he can figure it out, and it turns out they didn't know what a zip file was.

It's because children of the past few gens didn't grow up on the Internet or computers. They grew up on smartphones and tablets. They've never had to use a browser before. They just hit the YouTube button and let videos autoplay until their brains are mush. On the old Internet, you needed to actually know how to use a computer to get around schools blocking websites, how to delete your browser history to hide your embarrassing pornography, and how to torrent because you couldn't just pay $4.99 to instantly watch any movie you wanted.
