Sad bee is sad because watching TV from the past reminds him that the good times of his youth are over, and that he can never relive those moments. Sure, he can try to watch the old shows and movies he liked, but it isn't the same because times are different, and he is different. The young person full of hope and optimism has been beaten down by the hard realities of life, and what once comforting is now only a bittersweet reminder of what has passed.
