I remember watching a thing about Thomas Kinkade, a lot of it was just people being mad he commercialized it and sold a ton of paintings through retail.
There is a line between the up their own ass art snobs who throw a bunch of buzzwords out in response to the question "What makes something art?" and the people who call a blank canvas art and I feel like this stuff lands in the middle on the "it looks nice and looked fun to make" side. People are fucking weird about art on both sides of the spectrum and all seem to forget that for as much as art can be though provoking and prompt introspection it can also just be fun both to make and enjoy looking at and thats fine.
