TF2 works for me as a "hero shooter" specifically because the different classes only really change attributes (health, speed, etc) and weapons (slightly different damage outputs, with only occasional game changers like gunslinger or demoknight loadouts). Overwatch adds a shit-ton of unique abilities while also having constant shields be a thing, which makes for a very grindy, slow, MOBA-esque playstyle where a single teammate's death has disproportionate impact on the flow of the match as a whole. I do not enjoy that for the same reason I don't enjoy MOBAs.Hrm. Think Titanfall 2 MP is worth playing today? Might consider getting it.
Do explain your Overwatch hate, though. Not that there aren't a lot of reasons to hate it (boy are there), but it's one of the better modern multiplayer FPS games (which doesn't say much. At all. God I miss the 90s).
Blizzard catered to manbabies who wanted to buff their favorite characters and to esports to make everything "balanced" (yes, those are mutually exclusive ideas, no-one said Blizz were smart). When did this one go wrong, anyway? I stopped playing pretty early, but i remember that it was already heavily-bashed prior to OW"2" release.
Yeah i think i checked out fairly soon after Brig was added, because IIRC Brig on release was fucking bonkers and i kind of just didn't enjoy the game anymore. And they have introduced bunch of the new characters, each more gamebreaking and powerful than the last.
And then they overcorrected by making the game boring as shit by enabling wheelchair comp and double shield, and 10 different kinds of "only the tanks get to play, the other 8 people get to shoot at their shield for 30 minutes". Which Overwatch 2 mostly fixed by removing one tank, and making all of the other tanks gorilla initiators who need to chimp into the enemy team or you lose because they killed shields.Blizzard catered to manbabies who wanted to buff their favorite characters and to esports to make everything "balanced" (yes, those are mutually exclusive ideas, no-one said Blizz were smart).

The problem is adding too much complexity to the game. Adding new characters is fine so long as they're well thought out, but they added like a dozen fucking characters. Some are shitty and seem redundant, and it makes balancing so weird. Just make it the original roster plus Sombra, Ana, and Moira.Yeah i think i checked out fairly soon after Brig was added, because IIRC Brig on release was fucking bonkers and i kind of just didn't enjoy the game anymore.
The Queen's OP, pls nerf.Constant updates are bad for multiplayer games prove me wrong.

I'm still fucking steamed about the updates to surviving mars they fucking broke blah blah blah autistic shitI want dead games. That makes them actual games instead of... whatever "living games" are. Not sure if someone came up with a term. If you don't have consistent rules and forms, you don't have a game.
Additionally, this resulted in studios making new games, instead of living off one for years and years. Another element in the death of creativity.
