Given they can literally get banned from things drive-by randos spam in their chat when they're offline, they have to at least give the impression they're trying to wrangle their audience to get the Twitch staff on their side if something happens. It's gay as fuck, but given they kinda have to comply to keep their jobs I can't really fault them for it.
