Her only valid argument is going to be lack of portability via the big dog manufactures. Handhelds are in a great spot, those damn chinamen are throwing out iteration after iteration of great portable handhelds. The Americans and Japs are making great large PCs that fit in your hand's that have the ability to play some older AAA titles on top of emulating Switch games and all prior consoles =<Gen 7. Going to be a kino stream of her just being wrong for 2-5 hours. The Switch 2 will b fine and has backwards compatibility (mostly).

Is Ahmad's reply serious politispergery? Yes. Does this belong in the memes channel? Probably not. But did JL7 also somewhat participate in the serious politispergery in this channel and ignite it by calling the U.S. a "sensitive country" that is "coping" 30 minutes after the conversation ended? Also yes. I guess whether or not you call this a "rules for thee but not for me" moment comes down to whether or not you agree with his sentiment because people love to say things aren't political when they're saying the 'right things'.

Pippa I know you've never read this thread but buy a fucking Ayn Odin 2 mini if you want something more portable, it's a PS Vita on like super steroids. The only downside is it's android not windows.

Ah joy, a stream about video games featuring the insight of a zoomer woman who struggles with any video game that isn't streamerbait slop. I can't wait!

I do think there are valid reasons to not care for modern handheld gaming especially as a Nintendofag - back during the Game Boy to 3DS eras handheld versions of games were entirely separate adaptations designed with the devices' limitations in mind, which usually resulted in a more fitting (or at least more interesting) experience. The Switch's hardware's in this awkward spot where it's not as powerful as mid-tier PCs and home consoles, but it's also not trailing far enough behind for publishers to commission entirely unique versions of games for it, so for anything that isn't a Switch exclusive you just get a PC/PS5/Xbox game but with worse graphics and performance issues.

Of course Pippa probably won't touch on that and will instead just complain about it being too big for her pockets and that things were better when she was twelve because her DS had Pokémon stickers on it.

so for anything that isn't a Switch exclusive you just get a PC/PS5/Xbox game but with worse graphics and performance issues.

I'm pretty sure my Steam Deck emulates the modern Pokemon games better than they actually run on real hardware.

Its honestly a shame, If in a magical world where Nintendo and gamefreak were not Japanese them putting it on PC would have done wonders. It looks great when it's emulated and running at 60fps but you just don't get a fraction of that on its intended hardware.

I meant more in terms of games she can play on it, the downsides are that emulation development isn't quite as robust and a lot of windows games can't be played.

However it is powerful enough to play most switch titles along with anything less demanding and there is a program called winlator that's working to port PC games to android using wine but it's mostly older titles and indies.

I'm pretty sure my Steam Deck emulates the modern Pokemon games better than they actually run on real hardware.

It does, Steam Deck can easily run switch games in Docked mode with upscaled resolutions and HD texture packs while the switch struggles with 30 fps on some games

SV's biggest problem are just being painfully unoptimised so giving them a bit more room to breathe on better hardware will improve the situation a bit. I've seen people getting them running better on modded overclocked Switch systems too, the stock Switches really do amplify the problems.

Better specs wouldn't change the fact that the underlying spaghetti code is a liability though, it'll just buy them a bit more time until they hit this wall again in a few games' time, since each game's development cycle basically involves piling more shit on top of the already overwhelming mess from the previous one. Ideally they'd take some time to clean everything up under the hood (and there's a part of me really rainbow-stickering that the radio silence on Z-A has been because they've been working on that), but that's also time-consuming for a series on strict release schedules - especially since Pokémon games need to remain compatible with each other, which is a consideration most JRPGs don't have to worry about.
