How well does it work with Windows programs in general? Been meaning to setup a small PC I got with a Windows/Linux dual boot, but SteamOS has me curious.

As someone who really uses windows for gaming and web browsing with occasional hobbyist uses (like me learning Japanese or something) I've heard SteamOS 3.0 is generally pretty good. If you don't play trash that uses Malware disguised as anti-cheat Kernel-level access anti-cheat like Valorant or League you're not playing them on Linux at all lol.
You could run it or run Manjaro/Mint while waiting if Valve will follow through with a desktop installer.

Dualbooting is the best solution for most people because the majority of art-related programs do not want to cooperate with Linux (fuck Adobe btw) but most substitutes work well.
