Honestly with how neglectful they appear to be under the most charitable of interpretations, I don't think that's psychosis. I think that just makes sense.

Methinks her subconscious might've realized something was horribly wrong with her parents, and it manifested in a way that sounds really schizo, but when you actually think about it in the context of the things they've done & said throughout a lot of these stories, begins to make sense.
