I'd add another information on why corpo pushes back against Discord for Slack. It kinda happens worldwide not just in Japan

Slack pricing are PER USER. Say if Hololive had 200 staffs and 90 members in 2023 (rough number too lazy to actually looking it up). Worst case scenario they couldn't negotiate a discount for the Enterprise Grid package because of having less than 1000 user and had to settle with the Business++ one.
That's 15$ x 290 = $4,350/a month and $52,200/year paying for slack.
The free slack version hide all messages older than 90 days. Noone be using that.

Sunk cost fallacy makes corpo pushes for the use of slack against their employee wishes to use Discord. (Tbf slack is much better for search and archival purpose than Discord). Also I know plenty of people who goes "Expensive paid product must be better than free ones" in my life. I actually tried making people to move onto discord in several of my companies, but noone cared.

Yup, and corporate inertia is bad enough, make it Japanese Corporate Inertia. If the founds of Cover weren't cutting edge tech guys, I think Cover would have faceplanted a long time ago, but even they can't overcome being Japanese Businesses a lot of the time. Though the whole story probably explains a lot more of Council's issues than much else. Cover was not setup to be a remote business with offset time schedules. The Jakarta office was easy enough by time zones and a central location, but they had zero physical presence in the West when they opened up HoloEN. Beyond just COVID, of course.

Also, yeah, search on Discord is terrible, but I think that's far more because of the way the UI is setup than the actual search feature.

If you actually listen to that part of the Holotalk when they mention the discord thing then you'll realize that both Kiara and Gura are clearly unhappy with however the situation used to be set up. They never once mention having Slack to communicate with other branches. In fact they talk about how they were on on an island all alone until finally getting a shared space with ID which sounds to me like they didn't have an internal way to communicate with them even if they wanted to. They mentioned how they needed to slide into the twitter dms of whoever they wanted to contact and just hope they were looking. Don't try to bend over backwards and make sense of things when the girls are clearly telling you it used to be shit but got better. I was only pointing out how crazy it is that they had no shared contact space until last year.

holoRust Server 2025 - PvE Day 10 FINALE

It's the final day of the server and there's a score to be settled.

Translated information was taken from this clip and the hololive Fan Server Discord. The event will divided into two phases that will use different servers. This is the PvE phase.

Rules and information

• The server will last from April 19th, 19:00 JST to April 28th.
• The server will run 24/7.
• The map seed is 649861369.
• Viewers must not relay information from other streams.
• PvP will be at an absolute minimum. PvP is allowed as long as the involved parties consent to it first.

A dynamically updated map of base locations. The server statistics but player data is obfuscated.

And now to the recap. This post was used as a base.

Spoiler: Day 10 recap

• Anya remarks that the Bradley is super popular to raid at the nighttime (during the JP primetime hours there's often other holomems raiding the Braldey.) so she wants to raid it now in the morning when no one else is online playing.
• Just before she can raid the Bradley, the egg hunt starts and Anya has to go and collect eggs. She declares herself an egg pro now and knows the optimal strategy. Since she's the only one online she's guaranteed first place. Anya gets 77 eggs.
• After the egg hunt, Anya prepares with lots of rocket launchers and heals (along with some pumpkins) and heads off to the launch site.
• Anya finds the Bradley and begins to shoot at it, though Anya may not be in the best position, but she'll try her best. The Bradley goes off somewhere as she was taking down an NPC, so she tries to get a better view point and shoots at it again.
• The Bradley appears to be stuck somewhere. Anya could try and get closer but doing so would make the Bradley shoot at her directly, so she tries to shoot from a good distance without getting too close to it. She moves around to the other end and gets a good shot at the Bradley, but it shoots right back. She backs off to heal and come up with a strategy. After recovering, she shoots the Bradley again. After a few more shots the tank is taken down!
• Anya after taking down the Bradley heads over to collect its loot. But the dismounted NPC's can still show up so she is cautious at first before approaching. She sees where the Bradley got stuck at and remarks on its stupidity of the place. Anya says she is backseating tank driving even though she's never driven a tank before.
• Anya prays for an L96 in the boxes of the Bradley. Its the first item that shows up in the first box she opens! "thank you tank intern" - Anya. Anya then collects the rest of the loot from the tank. Anya then practices using the L96 sniper rifle .Anya notes it's probably her first time using the PgUp and PgDn buttons (they're used for the rifle's zoom in and out).
• Anya takes shelter in the nearby building while waiting for the helicopter to pass (it's a Chinook). After it passes, she heads back out and uses the jackhammer on the tank to break it apart into scraps and materials to be recycled (there's a recycler nearby). Anya gets 700 scraps.
• Anya remarks that since today is the last day, she'll use all of her remaining scraps to gamble. The server will be up until midnight JST. Anya notes the PvP server will be on a new server, and perhaps teams will be made. She plans to be part of the PvP server, but also says that those who were part of the PvE server may not be part of the PvP server (she thinks maybe half as many people but unconfirmed).
• Luna and Polka wanted to go out with a camper van, but a Huey flies by and blows up both them and the camper van.
• Luna and Polka take a reserve camper van and go to the launch site. They camp around until a Bradley shows up. Luna went AFK for a toilet break. Meanwhile, Polka hears a Bradley approaching and drives the camper van away. Luna comes back only to find herself being killed by the Bradley.
• The two start engaging the Bradley. Polka is too close to it and gets gunned down. Sometime later, a Chinook approaches and the two take cover until it goes away. After the Chinook is gone, the two finished off the Bradley. The loot included a M249 machine gun.
• Vivi searches for loot at the water treatment plant in the snow biome. She comes across Niko.
• When Luna and Polka were driving back to base, a Huey flies by and blows them up again. Polka respawns at the wreck of the camper van and gets attacked by a bear. The two resort to a bicycle to retrieve their items.
• While Luna and Polka were retrieving their items, another bear cones up and kills Luna.
• Back at the base, the two plan to destroy the Hueys. Luna crafts a homing rocket launcher. After some flying around in a helicopter, the two leave the server for the time being.
• Vivi went to the southern harbor to raid a cargo ship by herself. She succeeds and goes on a dinghy of the ship. After struggling to get the dinghy freed, she immediately steers onto land and gets stuck. After loading up, Vivi pushes the dinghy back into the water and cruises into the sea. For whatever reason, Vivi steers into some rocks and gets stuck on them. She gets it unstuck and lands on a beach
• Pekora logs on and plans to destroy a Huey with others. She meets with Vivi who tells her what she had done. Meanwhile, AZKi's priority is gambling at the wheel. AZki later finda a CCTV camera that Pekora set up.
• Koyori got into an accident with a motorcycle.
• Pekora, AZKi, Niko, Su, and Vivi head to the northern oil rig by helicopter, and get to the oil rig itself by boat. Pekora puts Vivi in charge of boarding the oil rig.
• The reinforcement NPC's arrived by helicopter. Niko dies from them and respawns back at her base as the resapwn point near the oil rig is unavailable. She killed herself again to respawn near the oil rig. Matsuri asks AZKi via chat to go to the missile silo they promised to raid the other day.
• After having looted the oil rig, the group head back to shore and get into a helicopter. AZKi They fly by the launch site with a Bradley, which Anya has been engaging.
• Polka asks Pekora to destoy Hueys for what happened earlier in the day. Pekora agrees.
• AZKi and Pekora go to work to gather everyone at the Pyramid for the raid the missile silo. AZKi leaves Matsuri in charge to train the Flow Glow members. Pekora picked up Vivi by helicopter but crashes when arriving at the Pyramid [Su's persective]. The helicopter managed to remain in one piece.
• The final group consists of Anya, Botan, Chihaya, Matsuri, Niko, Su, and Watame. They enter a large helicopter piloted by AZKi to head to the missile silo. Botan points out that Anya has a C4 on her. While approaching the silo, a Chinook was flying abound and strafes them. The group set their spawnpoints inside a temporary base that had been prepared.
• Meanwhile, Koyori and Riona raid the southern oil rig. The two have a mishap where they fall of their dinghy that speeds off without them. They swim the remaining distance to the oil rig. Koyori swims back to retrieve the dinghy. The two have trouble with the heavely armed reinforcement NPC's but they eventually are able to secure the oil rig.
• After the silo squad cleared out the surface of the missile silo, they open the silo door and enter underground. Anya accidentally kills Su while firing at a group of NPC's. When the squad gets back into the elevator, Watame almost gets caught in the closing doors.
• After the squad left the base, they decided to raid the northern oil rig next. Su rejoined the squad. AZKi came back with her helicopter to pick everyone up, but Matsuri gets crushed. Botan takes down an NPC with her sniper.
• While in the helicopter, Chihaya alt tabbed out of the game and left clicked to get back into the game. This causes her to fire a bullet into Su. AZKi drops off the squad at the coast near the northern oil rig. Niko, Su, and Vivi split off from the squad and stay with AZKi. The rest proceed further on a ship.
• After everyone arrived safely from the raid, AZKi give Luna the instructions on how to use the attack helicopter. Pekora teaches Flare and Vivi how to take down a Huey and informs them about the anti-helicopter tower she had built. Meanwhile, Anya Botan, Chihaya, Matsuri, and Watame go to the launch site to destroy a Bradley.
• A Huey appears on the map. Flare, Koyori, and Vivi rushed to the tower while Luna and Polka get into an attack helicopter. AZKi and Pekora take another attack helicopter.
• AZKi, Pekora, Luna, and Polka take to the air to chase a Huey. Flare and Vivi get into the anti-helicopter tower.
• After the helicopter team chase after the Huey, it engages Flare and Vivi's position. The Huey then flies to the launch base. Anya, Botan, Chihaya, Matsuri, and Watame fire back at the Huey.
• Pekora gets killed mid-air, so AZKi lands the helicopter back to safety. After respawning, Pekora brings out her homing rocket launcher. Luna also prepares to land the helicopter but gets killed, leaving it with no pilot. Polka then dies from crashing. Soon after, an easter egg hunt starts. Matsuri takes cover in Lamy's house and the Huey sets it on fire with incendiary rockets. Eventually, the Huey gets taken down. And Watame gets mauled by a bear.
• While everyone gathers at the loot from the Huey, Pekora tries to put a C4 on Vivi. Vivi retaliates by firing a rocket at Pekora but gets downed. And so begins rabbit season. Pekora hides in the tower but gets surrounded. Pekora comes out and says that she didn't do anything wrong but Vivi guns her down.
• AZKi lets Vivi pilot the remaining attack helicopter and the two enter it. Vivi goes sideways and crashes. After respawning, AZKi leads Vivi to the mini-helicopter. Vivi crashes it as well. Pekora drops off Flare with another mini-helicopter. Pekora arrives back and ejects from the helicopter before it crashes.
• Anya, Botan, Chihaya, Matsuri, and Watame were at the gambling wheel. AZKi, Flare, Luna, Pekora, Polka, and Luna were at the blackjack and poker place. Niko and Riona were building. Koyori is at her base. And Su is playing as a train driver underground before eventually making her way to the gambling wheel.
• AZKi, Flare, Luna, Pekora, Polka, and Vivi gather outside one last time before the server closes.

And so ends the PvE phase of this year's holoRust. The newcomers to Rust definitely left a mark. The event also was a nice send-off to Shion's tenure in hololive, with a gambling an egg addiction like the rest of them.

It has been a fun time to follow the event despite interest tapering off after Shion's send-off. There's still work to be done for the upcoming PvP phase of this year's holoRust event.
