Phase and Holo are diffferent enough in what they offer talents, what they demand in return, and the sort of people that are suitable for each that I don't think there's any real crossover between candidates being seriously considered for Phase or Hololive (there will be indies desperately applying for both that aren't suited for either, of course).

We've seen plenty of people who had a very different character in previous incarnations thrive in Holo and Phase. This is fundamentally an acting job, the top level people have the skills to adapt their character to what's required.

Nothing in her model is Ai generated therefore she still does hold the rights to the character and channel.

If her current model (or character design or what have you) is a derivative work of the original one then there's a copyright interest there. Pippa and her audience came up with the original concept, the AI did the picture, is there enough of that left in her current form to constitute something copyrightable? Probably not but no corp big enough to be worth suing is going to take that risk.

Guess what, LucidSky is technically the copyright holder to AmaLee's character, but that didn't stop her from joining VShojo. You can sign away the copyright or at least give out a license that essentially does the same thing.
So why would Pippa having a very shaky claim on Nyana's character be any obstacle to her continuing to use the IP elsewhere, unless you believe Pippa would put up roadblocks for no reason?

If Holo is true she will be forced to leave behind a big part of the culture she grew herself. HoloEN is becoming more and more pozzed with old talents leaving and new talents virtue signaling. If she's able to filter out that side of the EN fanbase, I think she will do great with fellow lolicons on the JP side.

That's a good point actually, Holo EN is definitely trending towards a normie audience now. Both in terms of virtue signaling as you've mentioned as well as showing interest in talents that are far removed from standard VTubing/idol/weeb culture. Not super friendly for someone like Nyanna...

Obviously Pippa putting up roadblocks in this context would already include not signing away the copyright, which the corpo and Nyana herself should obviously ask for to escape those potential pitfalls.
I just wanted to explain that there are ways to "get" the copyright and if she wanted to, she definitely could have continued to use the Nyana character in a corpo without issues.

As unlikely as this is (I distinctly remember Pippa disavowing whatever copyright claim she might hold to her creations in her first FlaVR stream so I assume she did the same in the one that came up with Nyana too), the thought of there being a court battle in 50 years between two families over the provenance of a loli cat character created as a shitpost in the early 2010s is pretty funny.
