There's a funny clip from their training stream yesterday where the captain commented that Moka didn't talk during the match which led to her trying to speak and sounding like a bugged machine.

Moka has the classic pro player syndrome of being bad at literally everything that isn't a fighting game, but it's cuter when she does it. She also said her knees got inflamed after one hour of taking a walk, which is basically Shigure Ui levels of body health. Truly a pro gamer.

Not-Reine of Hololive ID seems to be rebranding for some reason

In the past, Reine would have little PL activity, except for occasionally posting food pictures on Instagram or tweeting about her current lesbian obsession. So this switch to a new persona is interesting. But I want to point out that the Bio on her Kyunsomnia account says "Not Vtuber". So a fleshstreaming account? But she already did that with the other one too? An account for tweeting only? That too, she could just use her old one for.

Reine is an interesting case, because for her, Hololive is 100% a hobby. Unlike many others from ID or even EN, she doesn't need any of the money she's making. She was already superrich before and will remain rich after. There is no financial incentive for her to stay in Hololive. She benefits from the bigger audience and is making new friends and connections there. But it also means that since she got no monetary incentive from Hololive, she does all that work and puts up with a Japanese management purely out of the love for the game, which I find quite admirable.

Phase didn't even announce they were going last year until about 6 weeks prior to the opening day. Most guests and sponsors were kept secret until about a month out in what I assume was an attempt to build hype.

Yeah Phase will have cons in the works but rarely announce them until some are a couple of weeks out with the excuse "things weren't finalized". Fuck off Fishman, you are working a SOLID pattern here. It's just advertising shit, he doesn't need to advertise most of these cons, their only purpose is to show up to show off Phase to congoers who are already there. So for him THAT part is done. If you haven't seen meet and greets and the like are not a priority. Getting new eyes is. People who have never heard of phase walking by a booth. Not dedicated fans.

Advertising? That's the cons job.

I agree with the fact phase should try to maximize their con appearances, especially to promote the brand since they’re now a bigger player in the scene.

As for advertising, I’m more inclined to believe fishman’s words when he says some con appearances are last minute. If we believe the rrat about AnimeNYC, phase probably replaced nijisanji or some other musical act last minute.

Their latest con (some thing in Florida) didn’t start having applications for Vtuber organizations until a month before the con happened, and phase announced their appearance a little under a month before it happened. I still don’t believe phase is a big enough player in the scene for them to be invited proactively like how hololive and vshojo are

I really hope it's not considered vagueposting to say that from everything I've been exposed to, the difference between a successful con and dashcon or rainfurrest is not how competent the staff are, but how many drugs and scammers are involved.
