It's really interesting how Brave got singled out (I am a believer in the botting rrat) since other agencies' debuts look a lot more botlike than "gain 50k in a week and then drop off a cliff".

Honest question: which agencies are you referring to? Outside of some of the big names like Hololive, the recent V4M gen had some of the highest debut sub counts I've seen. Hell, they debuted with more subs than some Phase talents like Runie have to this day even though Runie absolutely slaughters them in CCV.

I think its likely its just some stupid fuckup from Youtube and whatever AI nonsense they're using now. If a giant network like Brave was doing something serious like mass botting, they would have nuked the entire thing immediately or at the bare minimum banned them from uploading more content. It doesn't really make sense to only remove monetization if its something serious. Especially when this was something that started over a month ago with a few of the Idol girls, which would imply the rule breaking issue has been ongoing for a long time and would justify a full ban even more.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if this is all caused by Brave buying Idol and transferring ownership of so many accounts, triggering some fraud detection of some sort like if a mass hacking happened.

For me these seem more organic just because they were the go-to agencies for so long (still ongoing for Holo). People have confidence that when Hololive announces a new generation every talent will be the best of the best and therefore they're more likely to sub with 0 information on the channel besides the presence of the little blue Dorito. Just anecdotal obviously, but I was subbed to all of Justice before they debuted and even though I don't actually like any of the talents enough to actively watch them I never went and unsubbed. There's no world, however, where I have enough confidence in V4Mirai to produce an entire gen good enough for me to preemptively subscribe to all of the talents.

Absolutely fair. Just seems likely that YouTube has some sort of magic that tracks the accounts and sees "huh these accounts subbed to xyz channel are still actively engaging with YouTube even if they aren't still clicking on that channel" which from a non-YouTube perspective seems much more in line with Hololive's numbers than V4M's.
